My pets have been my "kids" for the last 30+ years and my dad used to say, "When I die, I want to come back as your dog.". I've traded dog sitting with friends many times over the last 10 years, so now that I'm dog-less and not ready for a new one of my own, I'd like to love on yours for a bit while you're gone. At various times I've owned 2 Cocker Spaniels, 2 Rough Coated Collies, and a Chihuahua/Pomeranian (Chihuameranion), all came to me "second hand". Each lived well into the "senior dog" category (one of the cockers to a whopping 17 years!) with various health issues managed for as long as needed, including IM injections, SQ injections, topical ointments, eyedrops, ear cleaning, splint wrapping and re-wrapping, wound cleansing, oral meds, adaptations for blindness and hearing loss, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Our veterinarians have always commented on how well we cared for our furbabies. I'll care for yours as if they were my own, and strive to follow your routines as closely as possible while they're away from their home.
