Pet care experience
Hello! I am a former English teacher now working with a flexible schedule. I have experience with cats and a range of dogs, including rescues. I have helped raise dogs of various sizes and temperaments ranging from tiny to large. I have experience with aging animals, post-surgery recovery, and dogs that are arthritic, blind, deaf, energetic, shy, and anxious. I enjoy taking care of cats and I am comfortable with their care since I grew up with them. I always prefer to meet you and your animal(s) prior to any visit or stay. I try to work with a limited number of clients at a time so that I can better focus on the specific needs of each animal. I always ask for written instructions especially about food, schedules, medication, or any special needs or quirks.

I live in a condo with a rescue, so I cannot bring animals to my home. I am happy coming to your home where your pet is the most comfortable. My rescue is a sensitive dog that has been through a lot, so I am aware of how difficult it can be to find someone that you trust with your animals. I want to do what I can to help you feel comfortable leaving them in my care.

A typical day
I prefer to listen to the dog or cat and what they want to do during my drop-ins while also following your instructions. I can use high-value treats during my visit to help anxious or timid dogs respond and cope better to help them recognize my visits as a positive experience. It also helps to build a relationship and gain trust.
