Pet care experience
First of all, hi! I'm a 30-something who is semi-new to Portland after making the trek cross-country from NYC. Over the past 18 years, I've taken care of animals in California, Connecticut, Oregon and New York (including a farm with goats!). I'm currently freelance, so my schedule is very flexible. I'm available to put in the time and effort to make sure your animals have the attention, entertainment and love they need when in my care. My fiance and I have a sweet, 8-yr old Golden Retriever of our own named Bootz who we love taking on hikes, camping and on long walks around Mt. Tabor. She is quite literally a part of our family and I can't imagine our lives without her! I'm currently living in SE, but can travel to anywhere in Portland. I can also provide references upon request. Carly is amazing with dogs! She loves them more than I do, and that's saying a lot! From small breeds to big hounds, she has cared for them all. I personally believe Carly is a natural with animals. There's just something about how much she cares that really shows through. I would trust her with my fur baby any day of the week! I know she would care for any dog as much as its owner - and maybe even more!
Carly was wonderful! This was our first time using her, will definitely call her again. She was very responsive and attentive to our needs and instructions, and our two dogs took to her right away! I'm always respectful when going into a client's house or backyard to take their dogs on a walk. I try and make the whole process as easy and simple as possible. My house has a great, fenced in backyard and a lot of great walking paths nearby. We do have a sweet, older golden retriever who likes to keep to herself. There's enough space in the house to keep them separate or if they get along, they can play in the backyard. I can also crate your animal if needed. Otherwise, they are welcome on my couch or the dog bed.

Beforehand, it would be great to know what food the dog can and can't have, if the dog is house trained, and if they get along with other dogs. We can discuss their likes and dislikes and what their ideal day is! No breed preferences. I have experience watching all types of dogs!
A typical day
The activities are really focused on what your dog enjoys and likes to do. If they love a park, we can go to a fenced in park that will allow them to play fetch freely. If they love to just play with toys inside, that's great. If they like to go on long or short walks, we can do that as well.

I'm currently freelance so I'm home every day of the week and have the flexibility to make drop-ins for any type of animal. I love long walks around different neighborhoods and I'm happy to come up with a distance and timeframe that works best for you and your dog.
