I'll hike, walk or run w/ your dog

Pet care experience

I absolutely adore all animals! I was lucky enough to be raised around animals since the day I was born, and have been blessed to have developed a deep love, appreciation, understanding, respect and connection with all animals. I am familiar with all breeds of dogs, from labs, to pugs, to pit bulls, and have also had experience nursing very sick rescues back to perfect health. I am a certified Therapy Dog Handler and Trainer with St John Ambulance and volunteer my time at St Pauls Hospital and Vancouver Children’s Hospital. I work from home, and own a local mobile business. I live in a large appartment on a quiet culdisac, that backs directly onto the beautiful Squamish Estuary (full of beautiful walks and hikes!). I drive a large SUV and can transport your fur baby safely (and have a clean driving record!). I am very knowledgable about dog health, and how to treat and care for many chronic ailments such as chronic allergies, dry and itchy skin, diabetes, arthritis, etc., as well as administering medications. I have a strong background in dog rehabilitation, including (but not limited to) dealing with nervous dogs, aggressive dogs, puppy training and pack training. I have experience caring for diabetic animals as well, and am able to monitor blood sugar levels as well as administering insolin injections. Have a dirty pup? I am also willing and able to bath and groom your fur baby! (including nail clipping) if you so wish! I am a true believer that by having a sitter take care of your animals inside your home (rather than having your pets boarded) eliminates stress and fear within your animal, and allows them to feel safe, comfortable, and form bonds with their caregiver. Also, you will have the piece of mind that someone will be taking care of your home, which illuminates risk factors of theft, robberies and fire. You will come home to happy, healthy pets and a clean, welcoming home :) You can rest assured that your fur-family (and home) will be very well taken care of for the entire duration of my care, thus ensuring you the peace of mind (and relaxation!) you deserve while you are away.

Carly was great! She took our crazy puppy over the holiday at the last minute and we are so appreciative. She sent photos and videos the whole time and we could tell Nelly was cared for and loved!! Thank you!

Carly was great. She took such good care of our 3 animals and our home. The animals were happy and our home was left so nice and clean. It’s wonderful to trust someone with your animals and our home. We absolutely would recommend her and also hope to have her back!

Information Carly A. would like to know about your pet

I am comfortable with all breeds, sizes and ages. I would like to know safety information, such as are they good with other dogs, children, are they aggressive, and what their personality is like. On the first day I meet the dog, I would spend one-on-one time with him so that he can learn to trust me and also so that I can get to know the animal.

A typical day

I live beside the Squamish Estuary and would love to hike, walk the trails, or run with your dog! They will also be able to swim or play fetch if they want! I am also experienced with nervous dogs, puppy training, and pack training if necessary.
