Pet care experience

Award winning designer and compassionate dog caregiver for over 15 years. I provide premium quality care, healthy organic nourishment and dedicated protection for your precious loved ones while you're away. I’m experienced fostering pets with anxiety, senior care, exercise, agility training, weight management and with special medical needs. Born and raised New Yorker. I'm an active member of the Clinton or "Hell's Kitchen" neighborhood for the past 15 years. I've raised and trained all kinds of domesticated animals, including a Shetland Sheepdog, Pug, Miniature Pinscher, cats and rabbits. I currently care for my 2 year-old rescue Bernedoodle. Ollie is a gentle soul observed to have anxiety Induced colitis, submissive urination and express neophobic behavior - essentially new environments and new people require time to acclimate and build trust. Utilizing support from his amazing vets, behavior specialist, trainers, dog behavior classes and using unique equipment like earmuff and a canine backpack, I've garnered an immense background experience in rehabilitating a highly anxious rescue from fearful to a confident and healthy lifestyle in NYC and Westchester. Bernedoodle's are considered high maintenance as they require regular daily grooming. I like to maintain a healthy coat, clean teeth and fresh paws, as well as a sanitary home. I also provide grooming and bathing services upon request.

Carlo is an outstanding dog sitter! His genuine love for dogs shone through in his exceptional care and attentiveness towards our dog. He kept us in the loop with regular, heartwarming updates, photos, and videos, making us feel completely at ease. It’s clear he treats every dog like his own, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the peace of mind he gave us. Highly recommend him for anyone needing a caring and reliable sitter for their dogs!

I live in a spacious two-bedroom apartment, filled with luminous day light, pet safe plants and an accessible fresh patch of grass in case they need to go. I provide healthy dog food, pet safe toys, play games like hide and seek, fetch and also provide stimulating canine puzzles from beginner to advanced. Soft music is played throughout the day and use calming dim lighting in the evening. I'm within a block of two veterinarian clinics (Heart of Chelsea and Bond Vet) and an emergency vet center. My home is equipped with multiple HEPA air-filtration systems for fresh purified air and all surfaces are cleaned daily.

Information Carlo C. would like to know about your pet

I provide daycare and protection for a select pack of dogs under my supervision. I frequent NYC Dog Parks for my dog Ollie and include all pets under my charge. Pet owners considering my services acknowledge and understand their dog must be comfortable and well socialized with a variety of other canines. If your dog exhibits selective or aggressive behavior just let me know, we can provide a custom daycare program to accommodate your pet’s behavior while ensuring everyone’s safety. As guardian of your pets, I take your dogs health and security seriously. I patiently walk my pack around the perimeter of the dog park to assess all pet behavior in the park. Once within the entry vestibule I further evaluate the dog's behavior and interactions are safe for my pack. Upon entering the main chamber, I maintain their leash for dog meet & greeting, once clear, I allow my pack off leash. All while maintaining constant and close observation. Please inform me of your dogs typical behavior and if they have special needs or behaviors I can account for including severe separation anxiety, sensitive stomach, howling, loud and/or obnoxious barking, snarling, growling, snapping, staring, jumping on furniture, jumping on people, territorial, possessive, resource guarding (toy, bed, water bowl or favorite person), negative social skills with other animals and people including dog selective behavior also known as “under-socialized”, fearful, shy or any kind of observed aggression. Dogs learn positive social skills with other dogs through frequent exposure including dog parks, play dates and long walks. I can accommodate most dog breeds, small or large, shy or energetic, young or mature and those that require special care instructions. The more transparent and detailed information you share about your pet, the better I'm able to accommodate, comfort more importantly, ensure everyone’s safety! - Meet & Greets are highly recommended prior to request. - Based on your request, additional fees may apply. - Before booking, message me with any questions or concerns, promise I don't bite!

A typical day

Ice breaker game of treats "scatter" to help acclimate new pets in exploring a new space or new friends. Morning walk to the Pier 84 Dog Run or De Witt Clinton Dog Run. Lots of playtime activities like fetch, hide and seek and essentially socializing with other people and dogs. Dog walks are at least an hour long, usually include a visit to the dog run on Pier 84. On a nice weekends, I may venture to Central Park, Prospect Park Dog Beach or a hike through the woods in Westchester. I train dogs using basic commands, and also provide dog puzzles from beginner to advanced to keep even the most intelligent of dogs engaged. I also provide dog bowls, beds and toys, however feel free to bring one of your dog’s favorite toys.
