Stay at home dog mom
Pet care experience
I have LOVED dogs all my life. I've grown up with family members dogs, running, walking, and playing with them. I have a dog of my own, a dachshund cockapoo mix named Bruno and I've had him since he was about 4 months old. I'm a full time stay at home dog mom, so I'm pretty much always available. I've been walking and playing with dogs for as long as I can remember. I've also volunteered at my local animal shelter, playing with dogs in the yards and working on basic training cues like sit, stay, and down and I have crate trained my own dog. In my senior year of high school, I took a global health class with a veterinary unit, where I learned how to do CPR on dogs. FLEA SEASON IN CALIFORNIA IS ALL YEAR ROUND! If your dog does not have a flea preventative, fleas are a common problem. I have an all natural flea shampoo that I use on my dog, an all natural flea spray that I use for my dog as he is allergic to most flea collars, and an all natural flea spray that I use to spray down my furniture.
Reviews
Carissa is an excellent dog boarder. She sends a lot of pictures and even offered to keep my dog Charlie an additional hour when my flight was delayed. I'd definitely recommend her for your pup watching needs.
Stellar care and great flexibility. I ended up missing my originally scheduled pick up time and Carissa was super understanding and happy to let me extend my dog’s stay for an extra day. Thank you!
Carissa is a very attentive dog sitter. She sent me tons of pictures every day. When I got my dog back, she smelled like she’d gotten a bath and was super happy and full of energy. Thank you!
This is the second time I’ve booked Carissa and she’s been fantastic both times! My dog really loved seeing her the second time which was very reassuring . She sends so many pictures and updates and we love having her sit our little man!

We have a foyer in addition to our front door so there’s two doors to go through to get outside entirely, which makes it harder for door dashers to escape. While I do not have a fenced yard, I do have a neighbor that I dog sit for who allows me to use his large fenced yard when I’d like. There is 5-6 people at the house at any given time so your dog is never alone and consistently has attention and love. We go on leashed walks as I live on a busy street. We have a baby gate so the dogs have complete access to our living room and my bedroom. We occasionally go on hiking trips or trips to the dog park with the dogs. The dogs are allowed on the furniture and are welcome to sleep wherever they’d like.

ALL MEET AND GREETS MUST BE SCHEDULED AND DONE BEFORE CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING •Please let me know if your dog is/isn’t completely house broken ahead of time so I can go get extra cleaning supplies if needed. •Please let me know if your dog is crate trained ahead of time and if they are, please bring their crate and a blanket that smells like him. Crates are not a necessity! Dogs are free to sleep wherever they’d like in my home, however I do know that crates are often safe spaces and sending your do to a new place with new people can be a stressful at first and a crate can be a good place for them to decompress and adjust. •Please bring your own/extra poop bags! •Please bring food & bowls •Please let me know if your dog has any behavioral issues that I should know about before the stay •Let me know what activities your dog enjoys (Hiking, going to the dog park) •Please let me know how much your dog eats and how many times a day they eat. FLEA SEASON IN CALIFORNIA IS ALL YEAR ROUND! If your dog does not have a flea preventative fleas are a common problem. I do have all natural flea shampoo, all natural flea spray, and an all natural flea spray that I use to spray down my furniture. AIRTAG USERS: While I do not mind AirTags, please be conscientious of the time in which you are checking your dogs location. If you are traveling, please take into consideration the time zones and time changes before checking their location. I am a light sleeper and have been woken up by the noise they make since it is a noise I’m not used to hearing. Thank You
A typical day
We have tons of toys to play with in the house. Dogs are welcome on any piece of furniture. We occasionally take walks to Starbucks or restaurants with outdoor seating with the dogs. We take multiple walks around the block. We enjoy going down the the Jackalope Art Fair in Central park in Pasadena while it’s in town and it is dog friendly. We also love taking pups to the dog park or out for a hike.

Rover is my job full time and I am home and available pretty much 24/7; so your dog will have all of the play time, attention, scratches, and cuddles they could ever want. I live with my mom, my dad, my brother, and my cousin, and my boyfriend is here most days of the week so there’s more than enough love and attention to go around.
