About me: My name is Carissa! I'm 19 years old currently and live on MCBH Kaneohe Bay with my husband and our dogs. I have owned dogs my whole life and have trained and showed my own dogs since I was 11 years-old. I have always been fascinated with dogs, and animals in general! I have two current dogs who I practice training with daily between basic obedience, heeling, and socialization. My oldest dog, Enzo is my prized possession and I am proud to say he has surpassed many other dogs/handlers in basic obedience shows. I also have a 4-month-old husky puppy who is learning the ropes of basic obedience as well. I have an 11-year-old Cocker Spaniel who lives back home in Indiana and who was my first show dog. I'm very comfortable with senior dogs and any medications they may have. Dog Boarding: I currently stay at home, and am starting online schooling to become a Veterinary Technician. I make sure to keep a keen eye on my dogs at all times to prevent any messes or accidents. I spend a lot of one-on-one time with both of my dogs and training them to do new things. We go to the dog park every single day, and they get to be walked as well (the same will be with any dogs that board at my house). If you choose to board your dog with me, we can have a meet and greet any where that is convenient for you and your dog(s). Both of my dogs are Crate trained, but only our puppy sleeps in the crate at night. I have two extra big crates if you cannot accommodate one and your dog can use it. We live only a few minute walk away from the beach and are only steps away from a walking trail on base! I have extra leashes, beds and bowls for your dog if needed. We also have a whole doggy toy box with all kinds of dog toys! Our yard is a fenced COMMUNITY YARD, however, we are the main users of it. Your dog will be leashed at all times while outside - per MCBH policy. We can supply our own poop bags but if you have your own you can leave with us, that would be great! You must bring your own food for your dog, I do not want to risk feeding our food to your dog and messing up his/her digestion tract. Drop-in Visits: Because I am home all day, I can visit as early or late as you want or anything in between! I will need instructions as to how often your dog needs to go out or be fed (Small dog, small bladder, etc.). Walking: I am open to walking your dog any time of day. If he/she is not fond of other dogs, I am perfectly fine with walking them by their self without my dogs. :)
