Pet care experience
I have cared for all of my family's pets (cats, dogs, and fish) since age 15; but as an adult I have personally cared for cats, dogs, reptiles (bearded dragons, crested geckos, boas, pythons), dart frogs, fish (fresh and salt water), rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds (Parrots). I worked at an animal shelter from 2020- 2022 providing adoption counseling, where-in I taught training and care methods for all types of critters (including those listed previously as well as others). I was taught positive reinforcement and fear free training methods while at the shelter, and I continue to use that training in my current pet care. I am very experienced, but also willing to learn!

Carissa did an amazing job with our two dogs during a 5 day vacation! She has excellent communication, is honest, and reliable. She left our house exactly as we left it. The dogs loved her too! I would definitely hire Carissa again in the future!
Best petsitting experience I've ever had. Carissa was amazing with our pets' quirks and concerns and kept in constant communication with us about how they were all doing. It was so nice not to be worried about their wellbeing while we were gone and lovely to have someone trustworthy in mind for future trips.
Carissa was wonderful, went above and beyond with the communication and even photos, which is very appreciated when you're on vacation and missing your pets. Very punctual and endured through our disaster of a driveway which was icy and nearly impassible. One of our dogs requires insulin, which isn't easy, and she handled that just fine as well, so we are very happy and highly recommend Carissa
Carissa is amazing! She took the time and care to understand our fur babies and give them the best experience possible. I couldn't imagine leaving our cat and dog with anyone else.

I will stick to what ever routine you have set up as well as provide a loving, caring environment where I am actively involved in your companions well-being and happiness. I have lots of experience giving oral medications to animals, and also topical medications/creams. I am fairly comfortable with brushing out fur on dogs and cats, too! I would love to walk your pup around your neighborhood or to nearby parks, however I will not take your furry companion to dog parks due to their unpredictable nature.

I'd love to know play styles, favorite toys, cue words, commands, favorite past times, favorite smells, and also if there is a high prey drive (which is not an issue, but helps me prepare for little critters on walks). Any triggers for your furry companion would be great to know as well, including any body handling sensitivity.
A typical day
I love to play some good scent games, tug, hide and seek, and I try to incorporate some enriching treats or food for meal time (such as freeze bowls, puzzle feeders, ball feeders etc).
