Hi, I'm Cara. I am a long time Los Osos resident and homeowner. I really love pets and animals and treat them all as if they were my own. I have found my calling with pet sitting. If you are looking for a reliable, caring, professional and patient sitter that you can count on for years to come, I am your girl. I know how important it is to find the right person to look after your beloved pets. I don't travel much so I am available, often at short notice. Your pet and your property are my priority. I have experience with dogs and cats with certain behavioral issues such as lunging and aggression towards other dogs. I will follow your rules, regulations, and routines to the best of my ability. I recognize signs of animal discomfort and anxiety. I usually carry pepper spray when I walk dogs in Los Osos in case an off-leash dog (or other animal) attacks. I have experience with sick and dying pets as well and have administered medication injections and oral medications, eye medications and subcutaneous fluids. I will definitely pick up the poop and will not let them escape. I will not waste water, leave lights on or doors unlocked. I am happy to schedule a meet up and practice walk before you book with me so that you can feel comfortable and make sure that I am a good fit for you and your pet. I have a calm, mellow demeanor and I will leave your house and pet in the same condition or better than before you left. 🌈

Cara did a wonderful jobs for us, she came every day for our 2 kitties and sent a picture of them each day along with a few words. They were healthy & happy when we returned and their areas were clean and tidy. I recommend her highly.
Our pets love Cara. She took excellent care of them while we were away from them for the first time in a year! When we came back, the all the animals were so mellow and relaxed because they felt so comfortable with Cara (and they can get pretty stressed when we’re not home!). The house was super clean and she is so flexible and easy to work with. So happy!
Cara is awesome! My dog is very slow to warm up to new people but he got comfortable with her super fast. She’s his new best buddy. She’s quick to respond and excellent with communicating. Would totally recommend her!
Cara pet sit for us at our house for a full week and was amazing. She was extremely friendly and showed a clear affection for animals from the start. She was flexible, willing to complete two meet and greets, and took wonderful care of our two dogs and four cats, as well as our house.

I will do my best to spend as much time with them as I can, play with them and stick to their usual routes and exercise routines. I have a reliable car and am experienced with dealing with emergency situations. I can stay calm and deal with stressful situations if needed. As an independent home owner, I will respect your property and I know how to deal with house situations that may arise such as shutting off water, gas and electrical. I don't party, drink, or do drugs, go to bed early, and don't stay out late. I am extremely clean and care about the environment and minimize my waste and recycle everything I can. I will not leave food out for the ants on the counter or in your trash can.

I would like to know how your pet is with strangers and other dogs. What is allowed and not allowed as far as behavior in the house (getting on the bed or couch) etc. Do they have special needs, strange behaviors or require medications? What are their routines and preferences for feeding and pooping? I am happy to meet you and the dog before you leave if that is a possibility.
A typical day
I really like to exercise and love running or jogging with dogs. I will play whatever games your dog or cats like the best. I know pets love their routines and if there is a route, routine, or time that they are used to doing something, I will do my best to keep it that way. I am very familiar with Los Osos and Morro Bay and the places to walk dogs. I will keep your dog on the leash and avoid other dogs to avoid any possible issues and keep them as safe as possible.

Availability
I am a self-employed artist, musician, pet sitter, and Registered Nurse. I work from home and can be exceptionally flexible with my schedule. If you have a good internet connection I can do some work at your home and spend more time with the pets. I keep my service radius within a 5 to 7 minute drive from my house so If I am not at your house, rest assured I am very close by and can drop in quickly.
