Pet Care by Candice
Pet care experience
My animal care experience includes not only having been a vet tech for nearly 10 years, but also having been a foster pet parent, a volunteer at the animal shelter, local wildlife rehab, even the national zoo! I’ve also worked at a dog and cat boarding facility, where we cared for many senior pets and pets living with serious illnesses. Drop in visits and/or mid-day walks are great for sick and elderly pets, diabetic pets, new pets, puppies, pets with anxiety, or just good boys and girls who would like a little more attention while mom or dad are out.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety, pet comfort, and client peace of mind are my top priorities. While dog walking, I maintain full 360 awareness, to facilitate any necessary redirection. Further, I do not walk dogs from different houses together. With cat households, I close exterior doors immediately upon entry, every time. I monitor the litter box to ensure the cats are eating-drinking-pooping-peeing sufficiently. Anything concerning will always be noted on the Rover card and anything urgent will be addressed by Rover text or Rover phone.
Information Candice K. would like to know about your pet
Please tell me your pets favorite walking routes, ways to play, ways to be scratched or shown affection and anything else you think I should know about your pet. Please also be sure to tell me if your dog has any special physical, psychological, or dietary needs such: as recent surgery (especially orthopedic), history of injuries, arthritis, fear, reactivity or aggression with other animals or humans, peculiar fears, anxiety, diet restrictions for food allergies or kidney disease, etc, or severe food allergies of the humans in the household. (I don’t want slobber transfer to send you to the ER!)
A typical day
I typically follow the owner and dogs lead for walks. They tend to be a stroll, slow sniff, or jog around the dog’s neighborhood and back home. A longer walk, an hour or two, through the Seneca Park Trail is great for higher energy dogs. A walk through an area with dog smells but few dogs, with a clicker and treats is perfect for dogs with dog fear/dog reactivity or puppies learning to curb their enthusiasm for jumping on every dog they come across. Talk with me and I will tailor your dogs walks to your dogs needs.
