Friendly House/Dog Sitter
Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Candace. I have a background and career in Education; currently I am a private tutor. I like having dogs as companions. I do have previous experience with house sitting, pet sitting, pet First Aid, and CPR. I am a reliable and respectful person who takes pride in their work no matter what I am doing. I am clean and I respectful with other people's spaces. I have passed the Rover.com background check and I have references from people that can attest to the work I provide. I do everything I can to ensure that your time away is stress-free. When I stay with your pets, rest assured that we will get plenty of exercise outside and bonding time, as I make sure to provide company for the dogs so they are at ease as well.
Reviews
Best dog sitter we've had. Candace is communicative, kind, thorough, and my dogs loved her. I had quite a chaotic beginning of the stay with canceled flights and having to make some changes but Candace was so understanding and kind throughout. We came home to an incredibly clean house and a couple of happy pups. She deserves more than 5 stars and will continue to use her for dog sittings in the future!!
Candace was great! Super responsible. Would highly recommend.
5 stars for Candace! We were absolutely thrilled with her service. Candace was incredibly communicative, keeping us updated and at ease while we were away. She gave our dogs exceptional attention, ensuring they were happy and well-cared for. We returned to find our house in immaculate condition, and she even went the extra mile by shoveling snow! We’re already planning to use her services again and highly recommend her to anyone needing a reliable and caring pet and house sitter.
Above and beyond, highly recommend!

Safety, trust & environment
I typically never pick up more than one Rover request at a time. This is to ensure I give your pet(s) the best care possible, and that they aren’t alone for too long. In order to make your pet feel at ease when you’re gone, I make sure they get plenty of attention (pets, cuddles, being spoken to, spending time together, being brushed if your pet enjoys that.) I am also careful and respectful with your personal space. I usually vacuum the common areas before I leave, make sure the kitchen is clean, and wash sheets or towels that have been used. If clients trust me with other household maintenances (putting out the trash for pickup, watering plants, picking up the mail) I am happy to do this as well.

Information Candace H. would like to know about your pet
Meet and greets are the best way to see what I'm like in person. I usually ask some pretty standard questions. Examples would be: medication routines (if any), any known allergies, feeding and walking routines, if the dogs are reactive towards other dogs outside on walks (I avoid other dogs anyway but it’s good to know if we should cross the street if we spot another dog), if the dogs are toy aggressive or food aggressive, and if the dogs have any separation anxiety (as well as what might comfort them if this does occur during an owner’s absence.)
A typical day
I love walks, runs, fetches, and giving belly rubs. I am not able to board dogs within my own home at this time, due to a “no-pets” policy at my current residence. I am willing to travel in order to accommodate. I am willing to stay overnight and house sit with dogs during the night, or just check in and spend time with dogs during the day. Dogs will get plenty of interaction with me because of how my work schedule is set up.

Availability
I will be gone for a few hours in the evening, depending on the day of the week, in order to provide tutoring. I tutor all my current students within the Denver metro area, so I am never far from home. Occasionally I will pick up a part time seasonal job. When I do work full time, I make my Rover account “inactive”. I re-activate my account when I work part time. This is to ensure I have enough free time to dedicate to the pet(s) I am watching.
