The service takes care of the business side of pet-sitting for me, so I can focus my attention on taking care of the dogs (and their people!) I am currently pursuing a master’s degree online, which affords me a very flexible schedule. So one day, I might head out for a hike at Hidden Falls in Auburn, and the next day I’ll grab a bite at a dog-friendly restaurant. Your pooch is welcome to join me in my adventures! My past employment as a social worker nurtured within me the values of empathy, compassion, and patience. To go with those qualities, I hold certificates in animal psychology, pet CPR, and pet-sitting, with over 10 years’ experience working with dogs. This unique background provides me an intimate understanding of what makes a dog tick. Undesirable behaviors usually arise from external stressors—it’s not the dog’s fault. The path to undoing unwanted behaviors and reinforcing positive conduct is through patience and understanding. I take meet-and-greets seriously, making sure your dog and I fit together well. I’ll slowly approach your dog, speaking with a gentle voice, giving them a chance to smell me, and offering them a treat. My boyfriend loves dogs as well and he will be helping me provide care, cuddles and belly rubs! As much as I love dogs, I love cats even more, with three kitties of my own. If I get the opportunity to pet-sit for cats, I’ll gladly take it!
