Experienced ex-walking manager!

Pet care experience

Hey there! For two years I worked at a small private pet sitting company (about 25 employees) where I worked closely with the owner and general manager as their Sitter Orientation Manager. This means that it was my duty to train all of the incoming staff and make sure they knew everything there is to know about walking dogs and caring for pets before they could officially be hired. I was promoted to this position shortly after joining the company because of my professionalism and attention to detail. I LOVE dogs as well as cats (I have three kitties of my own :) ) and I have walked nearly every type of dog you can think of. From tiny 8 lb Chihuahuas to walking multiple 150 lb Great Danes at once. After amiably leaving that company I went on to work in a more intensive field of dog care at a kennel for an adoption center where I was a primary care giver to 25+ dogs on a daily basis. We had very timid to aggressive dogs around us, many of whom came to our facility sick, hungry, and needing medications and occasionally surgery. It was our duty to nurse these dogs to their full health so they could be adopted into loving households! I have had hundreds of clients in the city, many of whom have come to swear by my personal care. They know that when I enter their house I treat their pets and home with respect. Communication is immensely important to me, I know as a pet owner myself that when we can't care for our babies personally their safety and happiness is the only thing on our mind so I always make sure to keep in contact with pictures and updates about my clients' pets via text or email--whatever is preferable! A little about myself, other than being an animal enthusiast I am also a musician and I graduated from Rutgers University in 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Italian!

Cameron was trustworthy and professional. I was apprehensive about going on vacation because I have three cats and a unique situation with lots of instructions. All of them have special medical needs, and potentially tricky personalities. He was able to execute all of the instructions to a tee, and met tricky situations head on when others may have given up. He left notes and pictures several times a day. Thanks to Cameron, I had my dream vacation with no worries!

Cameron was awesome and took great care of my special needs handicapped dog on his check-in. It was wonderful to have peace of mind knowing my pup was in great hands!

Information Cameron D. would like to know about your pet

No breed preference! I love all dogs alike! It would be useful to know about your dogs disposition, ie is the dog leash reactive or dog reactive, does the dog have issues with anxiety, is he/she generally nervous around new people, are there any medical issues to be aware of, is there a specific spot your dog needs to visit to feel comfortable going to the bathroom? Also it would be helpful to know if the dog gets treated after/before a walk!

A typical day

I love exploring new places with dogs! They are often such invaluable guides. Generally, before service starts I'll ask if there is a preferred route to walk with your pup. If not, I usually let the dog show me where they and their nose want to explore! Of course I am attentive to make sure he or she is not walking on any broken glass or anything else hazardous. We will generally avoid going to dog parks, unless it is preferred, simply because other dogs can be unpredictable. Who doesn't love a game of fetch? If there is somewhere your dog can run wild we can play all day! Have another idea for fun ways to entertain your pup? Tell me about them and we can implement it into our routine!
