Make pet care a walk in the park!
Pet care experience
I fostered to adopt my dog through Ruff Start Rescue, raised and trained Hunting/Sport dogs in my childhood and adulthood, and actively engage in clicker training with my dog and friends’ dogs that are seeking support with obedience or other training. Walking, feeding, bathing, and enrichment are just a few of my specialities! I have cared for dogs, cats, farm animals, fish, and reptiles throughout my life.
Reviews
Callie did an awesome job! Based on the pics provided, it looks like Maisie really enjoyed playing with her!
Callie is a kind and compassionate lover of dogs. She is attentive and attuned to their needs and is highly skilled in addressing any concerns that may arise. Most importantly, she loves on any and all pet she meets as if it were her own. one of very few people I trust with my own animals. Highly recommend!!!
I think Callie would be a very good dog walker/sitter. She loves dogs and has trained her own dog several tricks. She is compassionate with dogs and spends time playing fetch or whatever. She also loves taking walks with her dog. She is also very careful to not put herself or any animals in danger or harms way. She just has fun with pets and always sees potential in trying to teach them some tricks but also rewards them for their participation. Any treats that are given need to be earned.
Great dog/puppy sitter. Great dog/puppy walker. Actually probably great with all pets but as I own dogs, this is my experience. Callie loves all animals. She is able to provide some basic obedience training, is familiar with enrichment toys, and has worked with several dogs who have special needs (i.e., social anxiety, separation anxiety). She is able to adapt to the different needs of each animal. Bear and Samson seem to smile and are much more relaxed after spending time with Callie. You will be happy. Your furry friend will be happy.

My dog has his own space that he is confided to during the day and has access to food, water, and enrichment opportunities while I am at work. When home he is free to roam the home and is treated like another member of the family. My home does not have a fenced in yard and as I am renting, I do not have the ability to care for animals overnight in my home. However, when entering others homes I carry the same mentality as when I am camping, hunting, or fishing: Leave No Trace. Rover is an opportunity for me to assist others in pet care and being trustworthy is one of those principles of this type of work. My career as a Mental Health Professional makes me value and honor individuals’ homes, privacy, and the vulnerability that is given by requesting Rover services. Unless I am hired to spend time within the home, I will do everything I can to make my coming/goings as scarce and least disruptive as possible. I pride myself on transparent communication about pick-up’s, returns, my arrival, my departure, and what (if anything) was utilized or needed to be cleaned up.
Information Callie S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your furry friend has any special needs, accommodations, or behaviors/cues I should be aware of. For example - if a dog is a runner, please let me know so we double leash. If a cat is an escape artist, please let me know so we triple check before we go out the door.
A typical day
In a typical day, an animal’s energy levels and preferences will dictate how a day or visit is spent. For dogs, whether it be through tug of war, clicker training, stopping for all of the sniffing on the walk, running energy off, puzzles, or snuggled up for some soothing pets, scratches, and extra loving - I like my dogs to know I am engaged and there to spend my time with them. Cats - while not always the most engaged or willing to play, I will always make an effort to be as affectionate they are comfortable with, enjoy giving treats, and playing as they want to. I have no issues being the comfy lap they decide to snooze in. Reptiles, fish, or large animals - the engagement varies based on overall needs but I like whatever creature I am caring for to know they have my full attention.

Availability
I work in a school setting Monday through Friday but I am available to care for other’s furry family members in the afternoons and on weekends. My own dog is walked morning and night and receives enrichment activities during the day while I am at work. We do lots of hiking, clicker training, and socialization. We frequent the dog park on the weekends or afternoons where the weather is cooperating.
