Love Your Pet Like My Own!

Pet care experience

About this sitter: I have been around/owned dogs for my entire life. I have sat for friends, family, and neighbors, staying at the house and sitting, bringing them home with me for overnights, and just coming to let them out at intervals. I've watched cats and dogs - from a St. Bernard to a Yorki-Poo and everything in between. While I have sat many large dogs, I've mostly been around small dogs. I am working a regular 9 to 5 job, but am available all nights and weekends. I feel that pets deserve as much companionship and attentions as possible. Love taking them out on walks and out to play. Why I love dog sitting My first dog was in the family before I was born. Her name was Sable and she was a Yorkshire Terrier who lived to be 14. When I was 7, my family got another Yorkshire Terrier, Jewel, who also lived to be about 13. I got my current dog, Riley, a Yorkipoo, when I was 21. When I moved out to Denver he stayed with my mom, who is an "empty-nester" for the first time in her life. I miss him all the time! I've always loved dogs and cats. I volunteer all the time to help out with friends dogs and have sat for Bischons, Huskies, Malamutes, Poodles, St. Bernards, and love them as much as I love my own. I've also helped out with cats here and there. About my yard I do not have a backyard. I do live right next to Confluence Park and within walking/a short drive's distance to many dog parks around Denver. If there is a particular dog park you recommend I'd be more than happy to take them there! My experience administering medication Yes. I sat for a dog that needed to take a half a pill with each meal for bladder issues. As long as instructed the best way to administer the medication, I have no problem at all.

Caitlin was awesome with our 3 large pups! She played with our younger dog, fed all 3 dogs twice in the day, gave our senior dog meds and stayed the night to keep them company. I definitely plan to ask Caitlin to house sit with our pups again!

Awesome person with a true love of dogs. Easy to talk with and she asked questions when needed. We were very impressed with Caitlin. She sent photos to show how well our dogs were behaving and getting along with Caitlin…

Caitlin did a great job sitting my dogs and my house. She sent pics and texted when she arrived. I felt very comfortable leaving my animals and house in her capable hands. I will be using her again for sure! Christine

I don’t take pets into my home. But I really value being able to help clients during these times when they are away. Vacationing these days is a lot more stressful! And having been doing this for almost 10 years now, I have many past stays to attest to my reliability and love I bring to each and every animal I watch! I truly enjoy being able to let people breathe a sigh of relief and know that their pet and home are in good hands for however little or long they are away.

Information Caitlin O. would like to know about your pet

What the owner really wants for their pet while they are gone is my priority for the whole experience. I think it's important to keep a pet's routine consistent when it comes to feeding, exercise/activity level, and attention. I believe it is all about keeping the dog as comfortable and anxiety-free as possible while their owners are away. I always try to find out as much as I can through discussions and the meet and greet in order to get as clear of an idea as possible of the dog's personality, likes/dislikes, and overall temperament, and needs.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Again, I live right outside Confluence park and am right next to the Platte River Trail. I run on there frequently. There is a dog park for small dogs that is a 5 min walk from my house. I have driven to the Cherry Creek Reservoir, and have researched dog-friendly hikes around Colorado. It all depends on your dog's average activity level and what you want them to do while you're away. Your dog's sleeping arrangement My own small dogs usually loves to snuggle with me! It's totally up to your own specifications, but most sleep on the floor of my room or living room where it is nice and cool. Time I'll spend with your dog During the weekdays I do have a 9-5 job. However, I am up early most mornings to go running and am home almost every week night right after work. I do not have a part time job currently, so my weekends are completely free. I usually spend them hiking and exploring Denver. I believe that consistency and attention are the two most important things when dog sitting. While I do work M-F 9-5, my responsibility as a hired dog sitter is to be with the client's dog as much as possible, while continuing to tailor the stay to the personality and needs of the dog. I love taking dogs for walks, hikes, or just any sort of outdoor play in general so that they are engaged and have enough activity during the day. I do not believe in taking dogs to dog parks unless directly specified by the owner, or if I have sat for the dog/client at least 5 or more times. I want to keep the safety of yours and other people's pets above all else!

I work a hybrid schedule these days so I have more time to spend with your pup on my remote days! The days I am in the office, I always make sure to spend as much time with your pet that I can when I am done working.
