I'm a serious animal lover at heart, with finely tuned dogdar, and the type of person to greet pets first before the owner (though I promise to greet you, too!). I've grown up surrounded by and caring for animals all my life. I've volunteered with the Humane Society throughout high school, fostering cats and dogs alike. When I moved to South Korea to teach, I volunteered for two years with CARE (one of the few non-kill shelters in Seoul). I was also fortunate enough to foster an injured pup (Judy) until I was able to find her a furever home. When I finished teaching in SK, I found an opportunity to volunteer with the Cambodian Wildlife Foundation and Dog Sanctuary Cambodia, located outside of Siem Reap. There, I was able to work closely with rehabilitated elephants and dogs rescued from the dog meat industry. Currently, I am teaching during the day and finishing my Master's in Education. I am not able to have a dog of my own, so I look to fill my dog cuddle time with Family Dogs New Life shelter, where I have the opportunity to work with a variety of new dogs every week (and the range of behavior they show when meeting a new person!). I would love the opportunity to dote on your fur family member as if it were my own! I have experience working with all ranges of dogs, from friendly and active to reserved and nervous. I consider myself adept at recognizing dog body language and respecting their space and energy levels.
