Certified Animal Care Specialist

Pet care experience

As a certified Animal Care Specialist and supervisor at my current job (an animal rescue) as well as years of experience in the field, I excel as a dog walker and sitter. My extensive coursework in animal behaviour, welfare, and BASIC veterinary care equips me to handle any situation with expertise and care. Previous roles in a kennel, as well as fostering dogs, have honed my skills in safety protocols and compassionate handling. Additionally, shadowing veterinarians and working in a vet clinic have broadened my understanding of animal health and wellness, ensuring that the pets under my care receive the best possible attention and treatment.

Caidance is very reliable and Zeus loves her. I am so happy I found her. I definitely recommend her. I have used her services on a weekly basis and I m really happy. I got very lucky to find an awesome dog lover like her. I will also use her for my cats and dog sitting when I will need it. I fully trust her. You would be lucky to have her!

My dog LOVES walking with Caidence! She comes back so happy and ready for a rest. Caidence’s experience and knowledge about dogs is evident and I know our dog is in good hands when they are on a walk together. She is always on time, and excited to see our dog. We have rebooked with her several times and will continue to do so.

Safety, trust & environment

In my line of work there isn’t much I haven’t seen.. which is why I take safety extremely seriously and provide the following tools as precautions, no matter what. -Pet first aid kit -Slip lead incase of leash failure -Glow in the dark equipment for night walks -Freshly cleaned water dish and water for walks - Heathy and high valued treats incase of escapes And more… I promise to send you honest and frequent updates to ensure your pet is acting regularly to its normal behaviour. I feel with my extensive education and experience I am able to advocate for your animals and never put them in situations they may be uncomfortable with.

Information Caidence M. would like to know about your pet

I have experienced all sorts of special needs at the kennel and shelter, I am completely confident and comfortable providing appropriate help and care to many of them. This includes diabetic dogs, mobility issues, dog aggressive dogs, and almost any kind of medication However, I will need notice as to what form of special care I must provide in order to ensure I am confident that I am the best fit for your animal. Please note that meet and greets are always mandatory. Here are some things I MUST know before hand to ensure everyone’s safety. - if the animal has allergies (as I will provide treats unless asked otherwise) - if the animal resource guards - if the animal is aggressive with other animals on or off leash - if the animal has bitten anyone - if the animal is selective with children, men or strangers (to ensure I can avoid on walks) - if the animal is prone to escaping I am comfortable assisting with any of the animals that have struggled with the problems above. However, I need to know in advance to ensure I am appropriately equipped. Thank you!

A typical day

Besides my 8 hour work day, on weekend and after work I am highly adaptable and willing to work with any schedule you see fitting for pets needs best. As someone who has researched and done courses on animal enrichment, I believe is keeping pets entertained and satisfied. If you have a trained animal I don’t mind keeping up with its training for you or just standard playing, hiking extra.
