Pet care experience
I have been taking care of and loving pets for forever!! Pets of all kinds, old, seizures, blind, puppies, hip problems, heart problems, wild and unruly!! Like all pet owners I have outlived several of my pets and they needed extra care at the end of their days. I have experience scheduling and distributing medications and know the importance of making sure they get outside regularly to avoid accidents in the house. I am aware of aggressive animal queues and behavior and will not put your pet in harms way. I'm sure you will see from my references that I take pride in everything I do and making clients feel their pets and home are being cared for and safe is my first priority!

The thing I appreciate most about Bud Brunkow as a house, cat and plant sitter in my case, is his absolute attention to detail. From the very outset it is clear that he's there for you and wants to make sure things are done the way YOU want them or need them to be done. He is meticulous, a great communicator, reliable, and has a huge heart. I cannot imagine a better person to take care of the things I love while I'm away. We have known Bud for over 20 years and he has been watching our home during vacations and other absences for the past couple of years, most recently in July, 2023. We have no reservations about entrusting Bud with our house key. Additionally, our property is left immaculate under his care and he is quite skillful and intuitive about taking care of any problems that may arise, such as a clogged sink etc. Our neighbors always remark upon our return how much they enjoyed talking with him when out on walks with our 3 year old blind dog, Romi, who adores him. Bud doesn't blink at any special requests and our house plants are always healthy and happy when we get home as well as the garden plants. My first priority is making friends with your pets. I can't tell you how many times I have bonded with a cat or dog and the owner says their pet typically does not make friends that easy! I usually get down to their level and wait for them to come to me. Right off they think of me as one of them!!

It is important for me to keep your pets on the schedule they have with you. Please provide a written agenda of the daily schedule they have. If your pet requires medication include the medications and protocol followed. Feel free to call me at anytime you are gone with anything you have forgotten. The main thing is enjoy yourself, your pets are in good hands!
A typical day
Besides just being with pets my favorite thing is playing with them! Tug of war, fetch and walks at the local park and in your neighborhood are the bonuses of my role as a pet sitter. I give your pets all the time they need to investigate all of the smells left by other pets.

I am retired so I have no restrictions in regards to availability. I actively do yoga, paddleboard and lift weights when my sitting schedule permits to maintain a strong healthy lifestyle.
