Pet care experience
Some of my previous jobs include middle school teacher and dog trainer. I am looking for a more flexible schedule, so my husband and I can travel. I have had a dog as a family member for my entire life. My husband and I are very outdoorsy and love to take our dog with us wherever we go as much as possible. I have a small dog now, but I have had big dogs in the past and love their playful energy. My dog must take medication every day, so I am familiar with administering meds and keeping a schedule up, if needed. I have formal dog training experience and have worked with many different types of dogs and cats. I am often asked to pet-sit by friends, family and co-workers.

Brooke has watched my two dogs forever. (Years) I always use Brooke because she always lets me know how they are doing while I'm gone and sends me lots of pictures. She takes time with each dog and gets to know their individual personalities. Even when they had special medication, oral or topical, she makes sure that it is done correctly, no matter how many times each day. I have one dog that is a finicky eater and she makes sure that he eats using every trick in the book. And my other dog can be reactive to new situations, but Brooke is very sensitive to her needs and will go the extra mile so that she doesn't react and she absolutely loves Brooke. Brooke is the best!!!
I'll keep it simple, Brooke is the best. She has watched over my three terriers as if they were her own and has always exceeded my expectations. She is always reliable, communicative, and incredibly trustworthy and I call on her whenever the pups need watchin'. Brooke is so incredibly nice and thoughtful, and she always goes above and beyond for us and our pups. Like I said, she's just the best, and I don't trust anyone else with my dogs like I trust her.
I am very happy to recommend Brooke’s services. She is very attentive toward her guests and communicative with their owners. My very young and active Belgian Malinois mix adores Brooke. She cared for him while I was on a trip for 5 days. She treated him like her own and sent me regular updates on how he was doing. She had no problem with his rambunctious behavior or staying consistent with his feeding schedule. Thank you Brooke for going above and beyond in meeting our expectations.
Brooke was an awesome sitter. Our flight back was not until late at night and she stayed up late to allow us to pick up our baby just before midnight. She was flexible and understanding. Throughout the stay, she sent pictures and update us on how our baby was doing. Is good to heard that he missed us but I know that Brooke took good care of him and took him out for lot of walks. I'm glad to find a sitter like Brooke and she is so close to us. I hope to have her dog sit for us in the future. Thank you Brooke!

I am very cautious when taking care of animals. I am very alert when entering and exiting spaces so that they do not run outside. I do not get frustrated easily and stay calm in stressful situations. I love to be outside and don't mind getting dirty when playing or walking dogs. I love giving all the scratches and pats that a pet could want. I am also very patient with animals that are shy. I don't like to push myself to pet or be near a pet that needs time or space to get used to me. I have experience with all kinds of dogs both big and small. I also have a lot of experience with reactive dogs and know how to use many different types of training tools including muzzles and e-collars if that's something you use with your dog.

I like to know about all of the essentials, like how much food they need, what their normal routines are, and if they need medication or special treatment of any kind. I want them to feel comfortable while they have to be away from their humans. I also really like to know about a pet's personality and their preferences. Are they shy or outgoing? Are they protective of their food? Do they have a favorite toy or activity? Do they like to chase or be chased?
A typical day
I love playing fetch with doggies (and kitties). I love walking and hiking. If a dog is able to be off-leash, I would love taking them to dog beach or to the dog park. When it's time to relax, I also love to sit with pets and give them some love in the form of belly scratches and all the pats. As a dog trainer, I also find that obedience training, etc. can be a very fulfilling form of mental and physical exercise for dogs.

Availability
I am a California-native who loves animals, the outdoors and traveling. I recently quit my job as a dog trainer so that we could travel more and explore some places that we haven’t been to before. Because I am no longer working a regular job, that has freed up my schedule to house-sit, board or walk dogs on a daily basis.
