Dog and Cat Lover!
Pet care experience
I'm a young professional who grew up around dogs. I enjoy spending time with animals, whether it's walking, playing ball or just cuddling up. I currently own two kitties whom I love so I have equal affection for both animals! I would be happy to provide overnight care for your dogs or cats. I do work during the day, but depending on distance, I could come back to let dogs out in the middle of the day. If walking or drop ins are needed, the best times for me are early in the morning (6a-8a) or after work (4:30pm onward). My weekends are completely open! In the past, I've administered oral medication to cats I was caring for and have given medication to dogs under my care by mixing in food. I'm not at all squemish! I'm happy to follow any instructions you have in order to give the best possible care to your pet in your absence!

I always feel comfortable leaving home when Brooke is looking after our pups.
Brooke is wonderful! She was completely reliable and communicated well when she did drops in for my cays for a couple weeks while I was away. Thanks, Brooke!
We knew our pups were in great hands with Brooke. Felt very comfortable knowing that she was looking after them. Loved the photo updates
I'll start with the good - Brooke is a good communicator, and left our house in great shape. Now why the one star? Despite walks being listed as optional (dogs can go into the yard), she took our fluffy, furry setter mix on a 30 minute walk in the middle of the day with a heat index of 110 degrees and he became dangerously overheated. She texted to ask for our vet contact info (we hadn't listed in Rover) and I responded within 7 minutes with the name + number of our vet. Despite this, she took him to a random vet for treatment and I'm still not sure why. That's when everything got super sketchy, from the purported 'vet' taking Brooke's phone to tell me Benny might die and then saying "I have to go save your dog" and hanging up on me... to days of alleged treatment in which at no point did I communicate directly with the vet, and did not know the identity of the vet, nor was I asked to authorize treatment or approve a cost (no amounts were given). Brooke continued to give me updates that Benny was recovering well, but she didn't feel comfortable being responsible for his care despite the vet authorizing him for release so she left him at the vet's for an additional boarding fee of $45/night until we came home. She then asked us to call in a payment to the vet so that they would release Benny - at first saying the cost was $515 (after she had made a $300 deposit payment, of which I have still not seen any evidence), then revised when I questioned further to say the balance was $215. She called me and passed her phone to someone else to take credit card information, and then brought Benny home. She left before we got home from our trip and has cancelled the meeting we scheduled to discuss the incident and the Rover claim, and has failed to provide the documentation required by Rover for an insurance claim. Throughout this ordeal she texted multiple times to say "Rover will reimburse" for everything (which by the way is not true). The 'vet' she took our dog to has terrible reviews on Google, Yelp, Facebook, everywhere, doesn't keep proper medical or payment receipts (I eventually received an emailed photo of a handwritten receipt with no identifying business information on it), and has specific callouts in reviews for overtreatment and overcharging. Also our hibiscus is dead. Maybe she's better with cats.

Information Brooke M. would like to know about your pet
Knowing how trained a dog is and how he/she reacts to other animals is definitely helpful. This way if we are out walking I know how much distance to keep between us and other pet owners. Any other safety or medical requirements, of course! (I have administered oral meds to pets and used to inject my Peace Corps dog with medication according to the vet instructions when I was abroad.)
A typical day
I enjoy going on walks at a nice park or if there is a dog park, I love taking pets there to burn some energy!
