Pet care experience
As someone who has helped foster over 25 dogs with the Front Street Animal Shelter and has grown up with numerous dogs, cats, various birds, ferrets, and guinea pigs, I understand the importance of special care adjusted to each individual animal. This includes everything from administering specific medications (shots, pills, eye drops, etc.) to adjusting play-styles and personal space for the animal based on their temperament, age, or medical needs. I am able to both stay and watch older dogs, puppies, or animals confined to the house as well as play and exercise outdoors for those who have more energy. I have cared for puppies as young as three weeks, older dogs with hip dysplasia, and many foster dogs who had surgery and needed a quiet place to recover. I also know how to teach basic training commands such as sit, down, stay, and come.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a large, fenced, grassy yard and three family members in my home who all love animals. There are two parks nearby and a dog park not too far away.
Information Brooke L. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences and before pet sitting I would want to know if the pet has any medical conditions or needs any medications and if so what time/amount, how much exercise or mental stimulation they might need so I can adjust activities, if they are interested or aggressive toward other animals so I can be prepared during walks, and what their favorite treat is!
A typical day
I am an experienced tug-of-war participant and love to whatever makes the pet comfortable and happy. A lot of the dogs I have fostered enjoyed a range of things from belly rubs and grooming to playing catch or learning new commands. I can also give baths, go on walks/runs, or go to the dog park (if that is something the dog and owner are comfortable with).
Services

Availability
I am a college student, so my schedule is pretty flexible with 24/7 availability over the summer (mid-June to late September) and part-time availability during the school year.
