Hi, I can sit anywhere in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake. Sadly, I am no longer able to board dogs in my home. I have experience with all dog breeds as I am heavily involved in animal rescue and all breeds are welcome. You may have seen me at local Petsmart locations or Care-A-Lot for animal rescue events. As you browse my profile photos, you will see pictures of my clients' dogs and rescue dogs I've worked on placing in great new homes! I can also sit cats, house birds, reptiles (except pythons and monitors, sorry), fish, amphibs, rodents, horses, pigs, goats, and chickens. I have plenty of experience administering meds and dealing with quirks. I am also capable of helping you train your puppy, work on minor behavior problems and can help you learn to handle your rodent or lizard. If you have an emergency and need a sitter or just some advice, I am usually available on short notice. Prices vary based on distance and what is involved in caring for your pets. Please note that this is a per *visit* rate, not a daily rate. If you will be gone for more than a couple of days, have more than one pet to sit, or are otherwise struggling, I will work with you on pricing. Please be upfront if you can't afford normal rates and I'll do what I can to help you. Rocky is a big male Boxer boy. Deuce is a smaller, brindle Boxer boy. He's quite possibly the easiest to manage dog I've ever met... Maverick is a little male Malinois mix with a BIG attitude! Sunshine is a Staffie/Beagle mix who absolutely loves cats. Carmello is a big, Pit Bull/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix from a litter of puppies I rescued from the shelter with their mama. He took a while but finally found a great home! Gabriel is a little Pomeranian who's anti-social for the most part. Marley is an adorable male Dachshund who demands lots and lots of belly rubs! Thor is a tan, male Amstaff who was adopted out of another litter I rescued. He's a big, beefy guy, but he's quite the pacifist. Even the toy dogs can push Thor around... Peanut is a little Llasa Apso who just wants to play play play and play some more! Brynn is a gorgeous, young Boxer/Hound mix with way more energy than she knows what to do with! About this sitter: I can make stops throughout Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake to care for your animals a couple of times a day. I can do as little as 1 visit per day for cats or as many as 4 visits per day for dogs. Animals like horses and chickens usually do fine with 2 visits per day for in / out and feeding. I have experience with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, birds, fish, and reptiles. I am open to caring for any animal that does not have to be fed live mammals. Dogs and indoor pigs require a minimum of 2 stops per day but I can arrange for up to 4 stops per day, or as few as just one for cats, birds, and other animals that are more independent. Email me to inquire about rates based on your needs. I've been involved in animal rescue for almost 20 years now, and it was through rescue that I came into pet sitting. At first it was just for people who adopted dogs through me, and then it grew. I've done a lot of work training rescue dogs and I have more experience than most with animals with health issues. As such, I'm pretty good at handling medical needs and/or determining if a problem is emergency vet worthy, or not something urgent. I have many friends and clients who contact me for an almost-professional opinion when deciding if they can wait until the next morning to get their pet to their regular vet or if they should rush to an emergency clinic. Why I love dog sitting I grew up with ALL kinds of pets from fish to birds, turtles, lizards, dogs, and cats. My family always had a house full of Pit Bulls and I started rescuing everything lost, injured, or orphaned I came upon from the time I was old enough to leave my yard. I volunteered at the Virginia Aquarium and dealt with all sorts of animals there. I also volunteered at a therapeutic riding program where I groomed and exercised the horses, as well as helped disabled children ride them. I have occasionally cared for pigs and chickens. These days I am devoted to dog rescue and an illness keeps me from keeping an 8-5 office job, so I rely on pet-sitting to make a living. Experience with meds Yes. Whether they'll take it hidden in peanut butter or it takes a bit of a wrestling match, I'll get them their meds and make up afterward. lol
