I started my first job at Petco when I was a teenager which developed my professional interest working with animals. Years later, I decided to join the veterinary field and become a veterinary assistant. I decided this was the field for me and attended an AVMA accredited school to obtain my license as a veterinary technician, graduating in 2012. I've worked with many different types of animals before and during my career in veterinary medicine. I've also gain experience working at many different types of practices; general practice, emergency hospital, specialty (neurology), exotic practice, and in an acedemic type setting. I am well versed in identifiying different medical issues, behavior cues such as body language, and anticpating needs or reactions. I worked in a lot of clinics that practiced fear free techniques and feel like that is very important when working with animals, especially during interactions when they are not 100% comfortable. I am very experienced in administering medication, caring for, and cleaning up after animals. Additionally, I am also familar with performing physical therapy from my experience working in the veterinary field. Personally, we own two dogs and two cats who are treated like our children and spoiled rotten.
