Professional Vet-Tech Experience

Pet care experience

Taffy the Miniature Schnauzer was an intelligent, fluffy ball of fun. She became my first dog when I was 5, and became the dog who started my love for animals. After Taffy, we spent a few years without a dog, but got two more later on. I have owned at least one dog ever since. From this, I have gained personal experience caring for not only healthy puppies and dogs, but blind and diabetic dogs as well. Professionally, I have worked at Banfield Pet Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant and have experience with both healthy and ill animals. I am able to administer oral and topical medications, and feel comfortable giving shots as well, such as insulin for diabetic animals. I also took a few college courses towards being a Veterinary Technician. I have experience from volunteering at local animal shelter, and currently own 3 cats, so I’m comfortable around cats as well. I work a full-time 9 to 5:30 job, so I am available in the evenings on weekdays, and any time on weekends.

Brittany adores dogs. She has been around and cared for them most of her life. Currently, she is volunteering at a local shelter. We had an older, diabetic dog and she was able to learn and give insulin shots properly and without any issues. She also follows directions carefully and can give medicines. Brittany has also practiced wound care for chronic wounds. She is skilled in caring for some exotics such as fish and some knowledge about birds as well. She knows the importance of sticking with a schedule that pets are used to. She can identify problems and handle walks and feedings. Brittany will do her best to care for your pets as if they were her own and be sensitive to your special requests.

She loves animals. She's a wonderful person with a very soft heart. Very gentle with animals. Takes very good care of them. I'm very satisfied how she's done with mine.
