Pet care experience
I've had a heart for animals my entire life (especially dogs), and I am very particular about who I will leave my own dog with, so when I heard about Rover, I was intrigued. We currently have one small dog named Phineas (he goes by "Phin," he's not fancy). He's a dachshund who loves children and other dogs. He will play like crazy if your dog wants to, and he's good just hanging out on opposite sides of the house if your dog isn't interested in following him and his mom around all day 🙂 He goes everywhere with us and is basically just another one of the kids. I work from home and am rarely out of the house for more than an hour or two at a time, so I am able to be home for my own dog (and yours) most of the day and night. We have a fully fenced yard, and a lot of open space inside the house as well, for pets to play, run, sleep, etc. It makes me so happy to be able to offer a safe, comfortable and loving place for others' pets, because to us our animals are family, and leaving them in the care of someone else can be so terrifying. I just want everyone to know that they are leaving their best friend with someone who cares and will give them all the love and attention they deserve while their humans are away 💜

Before bringing a dog into our home we want to know if they have any specific needs, any stressors we can avoid, separation anxiety, likes/dislikes etc. We want to keep them as comfortable as possible while they're staying with us! It is also helpful to understand how your pet reacts with other animals and children so that the appropriate accommodations can be made, should we decide that we are a good fit for each other!
A typical day
Though the dogs usually get a lot of exercise running around in the backyard, we typically go out for one or two walks per day. If your dog likes to walk, we will bring them along. If they don't like to walk or if they can't walk as much, we will go for a quick walk and come right back to the house to hang out with him/her.
