We love dogs and have been pet-sitting for nearly 10 years. Between walks, petting sessions and playing, your dogs will get plenty of attention with us:) We live in a cute turn-of-the-century house with a nice, spacious yard, back deck for doggy naps, grassy area for playing, and a backyard cottage. We do three 30-minute walks a day, and often supplement one of them with a trip to Ashby Beach, the Albany Bulb, Tilden, Redwood or another park in the hills. Our house has large windows and is full of sun, with plenty of places for napping between walks and play time. I am home half-days on weekdays, and my partner is home all day in the shop so your pets will have company the majority of the time, and am around all weekend. I usually go by the park during the afternoon walk for play time (with owner approval). A couple times a week I do the afternoon walk at Ashby Beach, the Emeryville or Berkeley Marinas, or the Albany Bulb. We usually go on long walks or hikes both weekend days to Tilden or Redwood and bring the dog(s). We usually have a couple play sessions in the yard in the afternoon and evening. Your dog is welcome to sleep in the bedroom with us, or out in the living or dining room. They are welcome on the bed or the floor (depending on owner instructions), and we are happy to put a crate on the floor if you prefer. Our living and room is carpeted. We have traction tape in the kitchen, and a Persian rug in the bedroom, so the house is pretty slip-free. There are a few steps to get from the back deck to the yard. We cook our dog meat and greens for dinner to help with his arthritis, and are happy to cook for your dog too. The dogs have free range of the house, and can go in and out as they please. We have baby-gates that we can use to restrict access to the yard if you prefer. Our dog is great with other dogs. We look forward to meeting your dog!
