Prospect Park Flexible Sitter

Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Brittany. I grew up raising a lovely little Lhasa Apso for ten years; He was the family dog. Flash forward 15 years, I now live in Brooklyn with my husband, and we just adopted a senior rescue dog. Cece was a stray and didn’t have a good life. We are hoping with lots of love, positive reinforcement and training, we can get her to enjoy the beautiful neighborhood around us. In the meantime, I am available for drop ins and house sitting to care for your loved ones, making sure they have a comfortable stay while you are away. I have a sweet, easy disposition and animals tend to love me. If you choose me as your sitter, you can be assured your pet will receive premium service, love and attention. I work from home most of the time, and I will be with your pet 80-90% of that time, catering to their needs as they arise. They will be given 1:1 or 1:2 care(same family only) and allowed to roam free at all times. I take the dogs for long walks In the park (30-45 minutes if they like), allowing them to run and enjoy the outdoors. And on return, if they are up for it, we play more! My utmost goal is that they feel comfortable and loved. I will treat them as my own, and I know they will have a fantastic stay while you are away.

She really got to know our dogs in a short time. She attended to their individual personality quirks and our dogs seemed to really take a liking to her. We have a medium and a small dog that also have an interpersonal relationship with each other...she was able to spot this and encourage the most positive relations amongst them in the house and walks. She paid close attention to their dishes, water, food, toys and when they have to go 1 or 2. She was in constant contact for any questions. Our doggies get sad even if we wash the dishes away from them in another room. So with my wife and I working, my extended meeting was going to make doggie tears drop. She came on time and helped me go to my meeting, switching our doggy frowns upside down. When I got back our dogs looked very satisfied with their short time away from me and seemed happy being with a new friend. They looked like they wanted to say “I had a good day with my new friend” instead of “I was terrified, where have you been!” (This is just what I wanted out of a doggie sitter!) 5 stars ...excellent doggie sitter!!!

Brittany was amazing. I didn't have a moment of worry, my pup was so happy! She sent updates and gave him belly rubs. Who could ask for more!

Brittany agreed to sit our pups 1 week before a last minute trip my wife and I took which we were very appreciative of. She was very responsive during my dogs’ stay at her apartment, and kept us informed the entire time. During the stay however, she reported a couple problems such as one of them having an accident on the furniture, and the other was barking and nipping at her boyfriend and sister (I should mention that we have had the girls stay with sitters before on rover [3 previous occasions], and never got any reports similar to this). As a result, she asked us to pick the dogs up a day earlier than originally booked. We were out of the country, so we had to arrange for my wife’s sister to pick them up which was inconvenient to say the least. I would recommend to Brittany maybe take a handling/training class to help become a confident, assertive pack leader. Dogs generally need to be walked on a regular schedule; then they know a bathroom break is coming up, and this helps avoid accidents inside the home. Also, during a meet & greet it would be a good idea to have everyone who will have regular contact with the dogs present, in order to anticipate any unforeseen circumstances. If my sister had not been available, I’m not sure what option we would have had other than getting on an earlier flight back.
