The biggest dog lover on Earth!
Pet care experience
I have taken care of pets (specifically dogs) since I was 8 years old (21 years). I have also been involved in dog rescue for close to 15 years and consider dogs my #1 passion in life! Anyone who knows me, knows that my soul is drawn to animals and caring for them is such a privilege for me! I have dealt with every type of dog imaginable-- from puppies to seniors, toy breeds to 150 lb dogs, and dogs with various temperaments and special needs. I feel confident walking and handling any dog and have over 8 years of experience working with reactive dogs (both human and dog reactive). I am an extremely open-minded, non-judgmental person who cannot be phased by much :) I am dog CPR certified, have taken over 20 hours of dog first aid and handling courses and am an active volunteer at my local shelter. As you'll see in my pictures, I also regularly cow sit (yep, cows!) and am truly an animal lover of all kids! I am confident administering medications, using all forms of collars, harnesses and leads and on board with any accommodations that will help your fur baby to feel comfortable while you are away! I can promise that your dog will be the center of my attention and be spoiled while you are gone :)

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a private condo community where pets are very welcome! While I do not have a fenced in yard, we have over a mile of paved walking paths right in my backyard and I actually prefer to get your dog out walking and exercised/ see and smell new things! We do have an on-site dog park but I typically refrain from dog parks unless you are 100% confident in your dogs temperament in one. I live alone so there are no other housemates or pets (my dog passed in August 2019 and unfortunately I am not ready to adopt again just yet!) This means your dog will have my undivided attention! I am a huge advocate on mental and physical stimulation for dogs, your dog will be provided with both! You can expect 3-4 walks a day and a lot of one on one attention!

Information Brit B. would like to know about your pet
I want to know as absolutely much as possible about you and your dog prior to sitting! I would prefer a 10 page word document over a quick, short text :) Seriously, you can write me a book if you'd like! Temperament is huge, what does your dog like and dislike? Is your dog afraid of anything? What relaxes your dog? What sleeping arrangements would make your dog feel most at home? What tricks does your dog know so we can practice them and keep your dog mentally engaged and stimulated? I know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your dog, so I truly want to take the time to make sure I can provide the best environment for your fur baby! Also, I absolutely have NO breeds off limits. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a die hard pit bull advocate. I have adopted and fostered 4 in my life and worked alongside hundreds. But I also grew up with toy breeds, and am 100% comfortable and confident around extremely large breeds as well. I love all dogs and have had the privilege to be around almost every breed thanks to working in dog rescue and volunteering at my local shelters.
A typical day
I am a huge advocate on getting dogs OUTDOORS! While fenced in yards are great (but mainly just convenient), I prefer walking your dog so they are both mentally and physically stimulated! It is important for dogs to see & smell new things and burn up their energy! I can confidentially say I know just about every hiking trail and walking path in Columbus, OH. and have spent 8+ years hiking throughout the city. I thoroughly enjoy taking dogs on walks that meet their physicality level and allowing them to explore! Getting to know you and your dog will help me best prepare our walks and find a great area for them to enjoy!

Availability
I work full-time Monday- Friday but am able to go home halfway throughout the day for bathroom breaks/ walks. I also am able to work from home with appropriate notice! I am completely open and flexible on weekends and am somewhat of a homebody. Aside from work, you can expect me to be curled up on the couch with your pup, hitting the walking trails with them or playing!
