Safety, trust & environment

This would be a discussion with the pet owner but I’m a rule follower! I never want anything to happen to your pet on my watch - I can’t think of anything worse than having to tell someone something happened to their pet. Whatever care instructions you give me, I’ll follow.

Information Brigid D. would like to know about your pet

How they feel about other dogs/animals/people, any dislikes, if they try to escape, and how they react to their owner being gone. I’ve watched a dog where it was a husky who was shedding and I didn’t realize it so he looked emaciated which got me scared, and I’ve had a couple that either don’t eat or eat very little when their owner is gone and it’s nice to know that’s normal and not a new issues I have to be overly concerned about.

A typical day

It really depends on the personality of the dog! The main dog I pet sit for is more shy and doesn’t love being around other dogs. We usually go for a two-three walks a day depending on my availability and then just hang out together! I have other dogs I’ve taken to the dog park if they’re more outgoing. Playing fetch or just relaxing outside together is always a fun thing to do though.

Pet care experience

I can’t have pets where I’m currently living and it breaks my heart. I miss being surrounded by dogs and cats. I fill that void by pet sitting! I love seeing and taking care of family and friends dogs. Going back to watch them is like visiting with a friend. I grew up with all sorts of animals - cats, dogs, and reptiles and amphibians! I love them all!

Brigid takes great care of our home and our 16 year old dog. I would recommend her to anyone looking to have their pets or house watched while away.
