Pet care experience
Animals have always brought me joy and peace. I'm one of the lucky ones who grew up with cats and dogs in the household! Chihuahuas, Chow Chows, Newfies, Golden Retrievers, Domestic Shorthairs -- I've lived with and cared for them all. And that's before we even talk about the friends' pets I've looked after! Black Labs, Poodles, Beta fish, and . . . more domestic shorthairs! I've learned from and bonded with them all across the country. I can't wait to meet yours!

Safety is my top priority. I have cared for my friend's dog in my house before and have effectively animal-proofed it, removing small objects from the floor and have ample space to give your pet a place of their own based on their needs, personality, and preferences. To ensure that your dog or cat feels comfortable, healthy, and safe, I will also follow your instructions to the letter! I enjoy rule following and minimizing the impact of a shift in a pet's environment or routine. When I'm not sure how to proceed in a situation not documented by your instructions, I have outlined below my decision-making framework for how to proceed -- and I'm absolutely open to feedback or collaboration on the below! 1. If the decision is more trivial and not a matter of health or safety, I will use informed judgment based on your values and instructions to proceed and update you on the situation upon handing the pet back to you. 2. If the decision impacts your pet's health or safety and there is time to consult you, I will contact you to inform and get your perspective. 3. If I am unable to reach you within a couple of calls or texts, I will proceed with your pet's health and safety as first priority and keep you in the loop. 4. If the decision impacts their health or safety and needs to be made immediately, I will use informed judgment based on your values and instructions to proceed and update you on the situation ASAP. I look forward to building a relationship with both you and your pet over time and improve my understanding of your pet, their needs, and what's best for them while under my care!

A typical day
We'll go on short or long walks depending on their needs, checking out new and familiar smells. At home, we'll play with their favorite toys and/or spend time cuddling with lots of scratches in their favorite places!

Availability
The TLDR is I'm very flexible all days of the week! I'm currently not working, so I am available Monday through Friday to care for, walk, feed, and anything else you or your pet needs! I'm also generally open on Saturdays and Sundays aside from a few hours each afternoon set aside for my yoga teacher training program.
