Service dog trainer & dog expert
Pet care experience
I bring a lifetime of experience and a deep passion for dogs to every pet I care for. As an experienced mobility and PTSD service dog trainer and puppy raiser, I specialize in raising and training puppies from 8 weeks old, guiding them to become confident, well-mannered companions. My journey began at a young age, learning from my grandfather, a search-and-rescue bloodhound trainer, where I honed my skills in understanding and shaping canine behavior. I'm also a member of the Association of Professional Dog Training (APDT International). I use R+ (positive reinforcement) methods to motivate and teach dogs, focusing on rewards like food, touch, eye contact, attention, and play to encourage positive behaviors. This approach not only builds trust but also helps dogs learn in a way that’s fun and enriching. Some of my key skills and expertise include: - Puppy socialization: Exposing puppies to various people, animals, environments, and stimuli to help them develop confidence and learn appropriate behaviors. - Senior dog care: Providing tailored care and support for older dogs with mobility or health challenges. - Behavioral support: Addressing challenges with patience and consistent guidance. - Small breeds and special needs care: Decades of experience caring for dachshunds and dogs with unique requirements or medical needs. This includes dogs living with blindness, health issues or physical disabilities. What truly sets me apart is my dedication to not just caring for pets, but helping create a better future for them and their families with the hope of improving their and your quality of life. I work closely with owners to ensure their pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved, while offering helpful tips to build stronger relationships and training partnerships. I approach every dog with: - Empathy and compassion to understand their unique needs. - Patience and consistency to support effective training. - Clear communication to ensure everyone is on the same page. - Knowledge and education to apply proven techniques tailored to your pet. - Professionalism and a strong work ethic in every interaction. Above all, I’m fueled by my passion for dogs and a genuine desire to see them thrive and become the best dog they can be. Whether you’re seeking help with puppy training, senior care, or simply need someone to love and care for your pet, I’m here to provide exceptional care that doesn't push your dog beyond its boundaries, meets them where they're at, and helps them grow and learn. Let’s work together to bring out the very best in your furry family member!
Reviews

Bridget has been walking my dog Stella for the past 4 months now, and she is amazing! So communicative and always gives me a very thorough update of how Stella is doing when she goes to walk her. Highly recommend!!

Despite the last minute scheduling, Bridget was able to make something work for us which we greatly appreciate. You can tell how much she loves dogs and pets by the way she communicates with you about them and put our minds at ease with a very detailed report and update. Would definitely use her again!

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety and comfort are my highest priorities, whether they’re staying in my home or I’m caring for them in yours. I provide a secure, nurturing environment tailored to your pet’s unique needs and preferences. - In My Home: My home features a fenced-in yard, perfect for safe play and outdoor time. I have experience with crate training, so if your pet is crate-trained or needs to start the process, I can ensure it’s a positive and comfortable experience. Puppies in training will receive attentive care and consistent reinforcement to help them thrive. This sometimes includes special overnight care (or multiple crate breaks over the course of an evening or into the late night) to ensure consistency and positive outcomes, depending on the puppy's age and stage in training. Because I raise and train mobility and PTSD service dogs for veterans, I may sometimes have a dog or puppy (exclusively labrador retrievers) in my care that I am raising with this mission in mind. This dog or puppy could be anywhere from 2 years old or younger, but will always be extremely dog- and people-friendly! If there are any concerns about this, I can also address them in advance with you one-on-one before we work together and I have the ability to keep the service dog in training separate from your pet if that's necessary or requested. - In Your Home: When caring for pets in your home, I strive to maintain their routine to ensure they feel comfortable and secure. I bring the same level of attention and care as I would in my own home, treating your space with respect and keeping your pet’s well-being as my top priority. For all services, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and positive environment, whether it’s structured training sessions, playtime, or relaxation. You can trust that your pet will feel loved, cared for, and supported in my care. Together, we’ll work to provide them with the best experience possible!

Information Bridget F. would like to know about your pet
To provide the best possible care for your pet, I’d love to learn more about them before our time together. Here’s what I’d like to know: Daily Routine: What does your pet’s typical day look like? Feeding times, bathroom breaks, exercise preferences, and sleep schedule help me keep them comfortable and stress-free. Behavior and Personality: Are they shy, outgoing, or a mix? Do they have any quirks, triggers, or special behaviors I should be aware of? Aggression: If your pet has ever shown any signs of aggression in ANY scenario, please tell me when, where, what and why that was so that I can prepare and pivot as needed. Health Information: Any allergies, medications, or health conditions I need to monitor or accommodate. CAN'T HAVES: If thee are any toys or treats or food they should NEVER have, please tell me what those things are. If you know your dog destroys soft toys, for example, please share. Training and Commands: Are they crate trained or leash trained? Do they know specific commands or routines I should follow? Toys, Treats, and Activities: What are their favorite toys, treats, or activities? Knowing their likes and dislikes helps me make their time fun and engaging. Social Preferences: How do they interact with other pets or people? Do they enjoy social settings, or do they prefer quiet, solo playtime? Safety Concerns: Are there any objects, foods, or situations I should avoid to keep them safe?
A typical day
Every pet deserves personalized care and attention, and I’m here to make their time away from you as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Here’s what a day with me looks like: Morning: I start the day with a refreshing walk or play session to ensure your pet gets plenty of exercise and stimulation right away. This is followed by breakfast, tailored to your pet’s usual feeding routine, and any medication or special care they may need. Midday: A second round of activity, whether it’s a walk, backyard playtime in my secure fenced yard, or focused training exercises using positive reinforcement. For puppies or senior pets, I provide bathroom breaks, cuddles, and quiet time to suit their needs. Most dogs love a morning nap between 10 and 12, so that's usually what I see when pups stay with me during the day and I'll turn a radio on or classical music to limit exterior noise disruptions from outside and help calm their anxiety if in a new place. Afternoon: Another feeding or snack if required, with time dedicated to socialization, enrichment activities, or even a well-earned nap. I’m attentive to their mood and energy level to keep the day stress-free and enjoyable. We might go outside to play, do a dog puzzle, work on some commands or just take a potty break. Evening: A longer walk or play session to wind down the day, followed by dinner. This is the perfect time for bonding, belly rubs, and making sure your pet feels relaxed and loved before bedtime. Nighttime: I ensure your pet is settled for the evening, with a calming environment for a restful night. If crate training or any bedtime routine is part of their care, I’ll follow your instructions to maintain consistency. Throughout the day, I stay attentive to your pet’s needs, providing affection, mental stimulation, and companionship. Whether it’s sticking to their routine or adding a little extra fun, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while they’re in my care. I try to read their cues to understand when they're feeling stressed or anxious, or ready to play and learn, and I adjust our activities accordingly.
