Your pup's new best friend!

Pet care experience

I have been working closely with animals of all species since 2011. I was a volunteer at the Indianapolis Zoo for 5 years, working in the deserts biome for the majority of my time there. I continued my passion for animals in the animal welfare field, as a staff member at The Humane Society of Indianapolis and a volunteer for various local rescues. It was through one of these groups that my husband and I found and adopted our first dog together, Squirtle, a border collie mix and our pride and joy. Squirtle ignited my curiosity in canine behavior, communication, and enrichment, which I use regularly with clients. We recently adopted our second dog, Goose, in June of 2018. He has quickly settled into our home and is continuing to teach us new things about dog behavior. In our home we only use positive reinforcement training methods to handle any behavior problems that may arise. I carry these practices into my pet sitting and dog walking, approaching each and every situation with a mindset of "how can I handle this to best benefit the animal". I am comfortable caring for dogs, cats, reptiles and small mammals. I believe in making pets as comfortable as possible, and for most that means sticking with their regular routine. This is why having an in-home pet sitter is a great alternative to standard boarding. I follow your schedule and practices for your peace of mind. I have experience giving/administering both oral & injectable medications as well as parasite preventatives. I am more than happy to bathe your pet on the last day of my visit. I can either bathe the pet in your home, or I can transport the animal to a self service dog wash, whichever you the owner would prefer. If you have any questions about my services or experience please don't hesitate to contact me!

Brianna is AMAZING. She has a genuine passion and love for animals and their care that is so hard to find. When I was nervous about leaving my dog for the first time, she helped me feel more at ease because I knew I could trust her to look after him. She honestly is one of the most responsible pet owner’s AND animal caregiver’s that know!

I have known Brianna for over a year. She is very knowledgeable about all types of animals in addition to dogs and cats. I would trust her with my fur babies. She would treat them as her own.

After a meet & greet with Brianna, I had no doubt that she was a caring animal advocate. I placed my little Pennie in her hands with confidence she will be well taken care of. After a short overnight trip, I returned to pick up my Pennie. There she was comfortably relaxing on the sofa in the arms of her caretaker. Content and safe like she didn't have a care in the world. Thanks Brianna, you are a wonderful lady.

There isn't anyone else I trust to take care of my lizards when I'm on vacation! Brianne is knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to make sure they are happy and healthy. Whenever I have an issue with any of my pets, Brianne helps me brainstorm how I can amend the situation. She is capable and experienced with all kinds of animals and is an excellent resource. In addition to lizards, she has also cared for my hedgehog, invertebrates, rodents, and I trust that she can adapt to taking care of anything else I would throw at her.

Information Brianna P. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog have any behavioral quirks or medical issues? Be sure to let me know before booking so I can make sure we would be a good fit! I do not have any breed restrictions and welcome breeds like pitbulls, dobermans, german shepherds etc. Due to my passion for animal welfare and shelter work I prefer that any dogs or cats under my care be spayed/neutered, or have a medical explaination from your vet as to why your pet can not be altered.

A typical day

I am a huge fan of mental stimulation for dogs! I love setting up intriguing food puzzles for dogs and working on clicker training. In addition to mental stimulation I also enjoy engaging pups in their favorite physical activity such as fetch, frisbee, flirt poles etc.
