Former Service Dog Trainer

Pet care experience

Dogs and I are like tea and honey! They warm my soul and sweeten my life; I can't get enough of them. To that end, I've logged over 600 hours training dogs to be service animals at a nonprofit organization called Gateway to Canine Partnership. There, I did everything from exercising and grooming, to teaching dogs the basic commands and even how to open cabinet doors. (The secret is lots of Cheez Whiz.) Under the tutelage of several professional trainers, I learned not only how to work with animals, but how animals work with us. I've worked with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, temperaments, and personalities, and I love them all! I've also volunteered at multiple dog shelters; and I've taken care of friend's and family's pets for years, meaning I have at least ten years of experience working with animals. I am a responsible, caring, honest dog lover who would be excited to care for your darling companion(s). A little personal history on me: When I was young, while other kids wanted to be taken to the toy store, I asked to go to Petco to look at all the animals. The love of my life was my Rottweiler, Asia. I rescued her from an abusive past. She was a strong girl—built like a football player and sweet as pie. I worked with her until she was no longer dog aggressive, afraid of being hit, or being sucked up into the vacuum cleaner. When she got older and had bladder issues and arthritis, I took care of her and medicated her. And when she got sick, I fed her meals by hand (well, spoonfuls); I was there by her side, sleeping on the living room floor in case she woke up and vomited I was there to give her medication, coo her back to sleep, and clean up the mess. She was so wonderful. We were blessed with her for nearly eleven years.

Brianna was amazing and took great care of my pup, Sasha during the Memorial Day weekend. She regularly sent me photos of Sasha playing and being her joyful self. It was such a relief! She was very accommodative since it was a short notice and we couldn't make a meet and greet, but Sasha was super happy in her place!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Brianna. We left our dog for 11 days with her and she couldn't have looked after him any better than I would have. My doggie was totally at ease in her spacious home and large backyard. Throughout the 11 days , Brianna kept sending me pictures and videos of my doggie getting pampered :) Brianna was very prompt in responding to my request as well as arranging for a meet and greet. While we were away, she received a request to watch another dog as well but she didn't accept the offer without checking with us , which I truly appreciated. I would recommend this kind hearted, professional sitter to anyone and I will definitely be using her services in the future again! 5 stars for Brianna :)

It started off well as I saw all the 5 stars reviews. She was willing to negotiate the price for 2 dogs boarding for 9 nights. We set up a meet and greet and all was well. Then we dropped off our 2 babies and left for our trip. Then we were thrilled to get updates with pictures. However, we started to notice our dogs were always in harnesses in these pics, which was unusual compared to other rover sitters we've had--the very first red flag. Then we received a video from her but our excitement turned into quite a disappointment when half way through the video it showed that our Maltese struggled with his back leg tightly wrapped in a thin rope. The sitter even said it was wrapped around his leg 11 times. Our second red flag--why on earth would she keep filming the video instead of helping the dog? The video went on for a couple more minutes and he was still stuck in a rope and struggling to walk! We expressed our concerns and she said she usually held the rope up. Okay, at that point we just waited to get back, nothing we could really do but hope they were okay. Finally we were home. Went to pick them up, they were alive, that was a good sign, but they were returned in harnesses. I noticed some hair matted on their faces and ears, but hey that's just hair, right? I'll just cut them off and it will grow back. Then I sort of kicked myself for being paranoid as I drove home, waiting to sit down on my couch to rate her 5 stars while cuddling with my babies, but before I could do that I noticed my pups scratching themselves like crazy. I removed the harnesses and behold--res rashes and hair loss! It was scary! Red rashes were everywhere especially around the harness areas, some so deep they looked like they had drawn blood! Our best guess is that she left them in harnesses attached to thin ropes outside her house for probably the whole 10 days. The Maltese is almost 10 years old and the Morkie is 2 and they never had any skin issues nor had to even see a vet. Today marked 17 days since we picked them up from Brianna. Our Morkie still has 2 red rashes a size of a quarter (on her 6 lb frame) on her joints. My husband and I had to tack team watching them this whole time to make sure they didn't scratch their skins off. It has been a nightmare. Use your best judgement people. I would stay away if you have little dogs like mine.

I was nervous to leave TJ on Rover, but Brianna made me feel very relaxed! As soon as I met her, I knew TJ was going to be in good hands! It was so nice not having to worry about him while we were away and Brianna did a great job sending updates and pics. Highly recommend. Thanks so much Brianna!

Information Brianna A. would like to know about your pet

Each dog has its own personality, so I'd like to know if your dog has certain preferences, favorite activities, or things he or she dislikes. I want to make my house feel like your dog's house in any way I can so he can be the happiest possible. I adore all breeds of dogs, but I must say I am partial to the larger breeds. The only problem is they can't curl up in my lap as I pet them, or carry them around with me like the smaller varieties. All dogs, every dog, two heads, no tail, I love them.

A typical day

I have an online job, so I am home all day to spoil your dog. Your dog and I can take a walk across my neighborhood and voila! A big grassy park for us to run and sniff and play in! I also have a huge back yard that is mostly contained that we can play fetch in or get tans together. I have many dog toys that we can play with together or just on his own. I even have an elk antler or two lying around here. I can also groom or bathe your dog, administer medicine, paint her toenails, or teach your pup a few new tricks.
