Pet care experience
I've always loved working with and caring for animals, which is what led me to become a zookeeper when I graduated college! Although I miss working with big cats like lions and tigers, I still love taking care of the smaller creatures too, ranging from domestic cats and dogs to rabbits, fish, horses, and any farm animal you can name (I've cared for horses, cows, pigs, chickens, goats, and even a donkey!). I'm happy to stay at the home if it makes sense to do so, or travel there and back as needed. I am experienced with training puppies (and dogs of all ages) and will happily take your active pup for a long hike or let your lazy cat sleep on my lap so they don't even realize you're gone!

Briana H. is the type of young person that gives me hope for our future! She is bright, respectful, observant, principled, kind and compassionate. And, she loves dogs! Briana pet/house sat for me a few times before the pandemic. She was very competent, took good care of my home, and especially lavished attention and love on my rescue dog, Macy. When she came over to meet me a few times before petsitting, she brought her own dog, Kali, who was still a pup then. I was very impressed with how she was training Kali, with firm but loving language and actions. And lots of consistency. I think any pet owner could feel confident and relaxed if Briana was dogsitting for their best friend.

If your dog has any odd idiosyncrasies like (s)he won't eat for the first 24 hours after you leave or gets weird around other dogs while on a walk or is afraid of loud noises like thunder or anything like that, please let me know so I can be prepared and help make the dogsitting or walking experience as enjoyable as possible for all involved!
A typical day
Hiking with dogs is one of my favorite activities, rain or shine! If your dog needs a lot of exercise, I'd be happy to let them play with my well-behaved and playful 3.5 year old pup, Kali, and we could definitely go for a hike nearby!

My partner, Zoli, and I are are both available for pet care and pet/housesitting on a regular basis, weekends and weekdays alike! We have very flexible schedules, so whatever you need, we should be able to accomodate at a fair negotiated rate.
