Pet care experience
Hello, My names Brian and I recently moved to the PNW from Wisconsin. I have a degree in Sports management, and I love to adventure, write, and of course spend time with animals of all kinds. Cats & dogs have been cornerstones within my personal life throughout childhood, up to now. A jack Russell named "Jack" and a boxer named Urkle were a part of my personal life. Over time I have come to bond with animals of other families as well. Goldendoodles, Labs, Golden Retrievers, German Shepards, Australian cattle Dogs, Mutts, and Beaucerons I all have hands on experience. As I have grown older the natural connections I have made with animals has brought me to Rover allowing me to connect with others and their companions. I Look forward to getting to know your furry friends and the experiences that come with it!
Reviews
Brian was terrific. A very caring and kind young man. After having surgery, I needed help with my pets so I saw him in action as he took care of their needs and making my recuperation period bearable. He is a young person who loves animals and my pets loved him.
Brian was really sweet and supportive of ensuring Kuya was taken care of in all aspects. It was an easy pick up & drop off and we can’t wait for Kuya to get an outing with Brian again!
Unfortunately Brian was not the sitter for us. He was an hour late for the key pick up. Then, the very first day he had an emergency and was gone fore several hours, and missed the dogs scheduled feeding time. The first night our little 8 year old chihuahua, who weighs 10 pounds and only has half his teeth, was barking during the night. Brian thought it a good idea to reach inside his crate, in the middle of the night, which scared Riley, so Riley bit him. Riley has never bitten anyone in the 8 years we’ve had him. Brian then informed us (at 3am our time) that he was going to urgent care. The only attention he required was antibiotics as a precaution. We asked Brian if we needed to come home, from Hawaii, or find another sitter. There is only one flight from Hawaii to Portland each day so we had to move fast. By the time Brian responded, my husband had already booked a flight and we had 20 minutes to get to the airport. Brian was in our home for about 36 hours and my husband returned home to a filthy house. Our two little dogs were not secured in their crate, and our large dog was in his crate but he’s bed was on top of the crate. Brian then charges us $750 for one night and two days. Rover support was non existent and said Brian was willing and able to complete the booking, but we were not comfortable with that. Rover then said that, even though this was Brian’s fault (everyone knows a dogs crate is his safe space he you never reach your hand inside, especially if they re upset) that they were closing our account. That’s laughable, since we had already told them we would never use them again after this.
Brian was great! He was very energetic and communicative when caring for Nova. Upon picking up my dog, he told me what his plans were with Nova for the day and even sent pics. I was in the middle of moving when I needed someone to watch my dog. Brian was very accommodating and flexible with drop off times as the movers were hours late. I plan on using Brian again in the future!
