Former Dog Trainer, now 'dogless'
Pet care experience
I'm a former Dog Trainer who worked in a Kennel in my younger days. Now, I'm a real estate Broker living in an Apartment, just south of the high school in Redondo Beach. When I moved here, I had a mature Border Collie and he has moved on. I miss having a dog around me and I'm good with all types of dogs. If you have a 'barker', I may not be the right fit. If they pee in the house, can you find someone else? I work at home. The neighborhood is filled with dogs, very dog friendly area. My apartment is between 2 streets with access from both sides. I have about dozen stairs on 1 side, the other side has 4 stairs, then about 10 feet away - 2 stairs, then another 10 feet away - 1 more stair. I can use either stairway depending on your pups age and hip issues. If you have a dog that doesn't do stairs and could not be carried, then my spot might not be a fit. I can have more than 1 dog at a time, if they are from the same family but I don't mix dogs that don't know each other. I have 2 Bedrooms, the sliding glass door goes to an enclosed patio and large grassy area along the side of the building. Your pup could come and go into a fenced in, secure area, as it pleases. First step might be a meet and greet, let's see how we get along.
Reviews
By far the best rover available- Knoxs absolutely loves him!!
Excellent!
Glad we found Brian - he kept us updated, sent pics & videos, and gave us a sense of comfort while we were away. We'll definitely use him again.
We 100% percent recommend Brian, he was amazing with our girl! She’s a rescue that has not been socialized, and he knew exactly how to handle her and provided updates with great photos and videos. We are so grateful for him, and how well he cared for her. We have already signed up to be repeat clients. I learned more in 15 minutes with him than I have from the trainer we took her to, and countless videos on how to handle an unsocialized dog. Brian is the best!

I cover the couch with blankets and the dog can take that over. Your dog will get a lot of attention and excellent care. I don't take your trust lightly and remember how that felt when I had dogs.

Barking dogs are going to be an issue because my space is surrounded by other units. Older dogs with hip issues may be a problem on my stairs. Weeks out commitments are difficult for my schedule, I prefer a week or 2 or less notice. A Note about Feeding: My belief is a dog should eat twice a day. Food is fuel and then it's a regular schedule for elimination and keeping their system regular. The food should be in a sealed container. If your dog does is a 'picky' eater, strong chance that the dog has allergies to some of the ingredients in the food. I am not affiliated but have found the Nutriscan test at Hemopet helpful for identifying allergies. Food switching is a process you would do over time, please do your own research.

Redondo Beach Dog Park is nearby, if your dog is good in the car and good at the park, I would love to take them over there. Neighborhood I live in has a 71 walkscore rating, 71 out of 100, very dog friendly area. *I have bowls do you don't need to bring them. I you have a bed or a mat, bring it. Let's speak about a dog kennel before you bring that. For dropoffs, I prefer a quicker goodbye. Dog will be a bit stressed so i take them for a walk as soon as you leave. Bring Extra Food! I appreciate exact packaging but I'll return the unused, just bring extra in case you are delayed. *If you are bringing a prong collar, can you please bring extra prongs. I see a lot of collars that are too tight so I'd be happy to play with the sizing for you while you are away. it should be loose so the prongs are applying light pressure and should never be left on a dog unattended. Great tool.

We will get into the same routine and I work out of the house. When I wake up, the dog will get a walk. After meais, we walk. If I have a short appointment, I generally take the dog with me in the car, maybe into Home Depot. Late Afternoon might be a stop at the dog park. After Dinner, we take a Walk. Before Bedtime, we take a Walk. Dog also has access to an enclosed patio and I leave the door open if it's nice outside.
