Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Brian and I've lived with dogs most of my life. As a child, my family had a Toy Poodle. Four months out of college, I rescued an eight month old American Staffordshire Terrier that I cared for until her last days at the young age of 16! I've spent time training dogs, specializing in dogs with aggression issues. Over the years, I've volunteered with multiple non-profit organizations to care for, train and foster dogs. I was a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. I've also trained dogs in sports such as Schutzhund and Mondioring. With all of this experience, I've lived with up to 4 dogs at once, including breeds such as, but not limited to, American Staffordshire Terrier, Chihuahua, American Bulldog, Bull Mastiff, German Shepherd, Border Collie, and Rhodeshian Ridgeback. As a dog owner, I know how hard it is to confine your dog to a kennel while you go away for business or pleasure. I have a dog friendly home with a doggy door and a fenced in back yard. I will only accept one family's dogs at a time, so if you have multiple dogs, I will accept them with open arms, but there will never be two dogs from separate families staying here at the same time. The only dogs that may be here are foster dogs if I choose so in the future. But I assure you, I will let you know prior to your pup's stay. If your furniture is dog friendly, mine is too. I will customize each stay specific to your dogs needs so that your dog doesn't have any restrictions or allowances they are not accustomed to. I provide additional services such as training, baths, walking, etc. If they have a special need, feel free to let me know and we can work it out. In my profile I mentioned that I could be out of the house over 4 hours in one day. I did this to be safe. I work from home and typically prefer to stay home with a dog than go out, but things happen and I do have some weekly requirements that would keep me out of the house on average two to three hours. I hope to hear from you soon. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
Reviews
Brian was great! Kobe loved staying with him, and we got daily updates.
Leaving your family member with someone you don't know is the same as dropping your child off at daycare for the first time. No matter how much research you do, there is guilt and hesitancy of trust. Brian has a peacefulness about him that just put me and my dog at ease. His questions up front showed a thoughtfulness about ensuring a smooth transition for both my dog and his environment. My dog is rarely alone and is sensitive. When I picked him up he was glad to see me but not eager to leave. To me, that said it all. Brian - I appreciate you! Thank you.
Nashville can be skittish around guys but when we arrived for his stay the day after our meet and greet, Nashville pulled me right up the front stairs! Brian took very good care of my dog, and I wholeheartedly recommend him.
Brian was extremely flexible to our tight schedule for drop-off, and a last minute change for pick-up. He was great with Barry! The fenced-in yard and extra dog toys were great as well.
