New job: free weekends & nights

Pet care experience

Scroll down to the availability section for more on how my open times have changed since getting a full-time job. As the owner of two rabbits and a senior dog, I know the level of attention and care pets need as well as the nuances in body language and temperament that make relationships with our little furballs so special. I have an excess of patience for animals that may be more timid, shy, or slow moving. My 15-year-old Aussie Shepherd Oreo has required specific diet changes for her kidney issues, and I have sometimes had to administer fluids via IV to help preserve her quality of life. I rehomed the six-year-old Flemish Giant Pumpkin and five-year-old Lionhead Gizmo three years ago and have had to adapt to and correct their learned destructive behaviors with love and patience. Since rabbits require unique care that is not comparable to that of predator animals like dogs and cats, I have experience in taking the time to learn how to care for both predator and prey animals. Throughout college, I have cared for and walked dogs and cats of various sizes, breeds, and personalities for classmates and professors.

Bri is so great - I was able to book her with very little notice and she squeezed us in. Much appreciated!

Bri was fantastic! She arrived promptly, got innovative with how to handle walking two giant breed dogs, and made sure that they handled their business before she left. She went above and beyond with the time she spent and made sure to send pictures and updates each day. Highly recommend!

Bri was so great! Although my guy is a bit nervous, he was immediately comfortable with her. We’re so glad to have found her and look forward to using again in the future.

Safety, trust & environment

The care I can offer for a pet as a walker is strong yet gentle guidance that allows for both exercise and exploration while encouraging positive behaviors in regard to other people and animals. I'm patient and a big believer in the enrichment sniffing around brings dogs. I have care and respect for all pet parents regardless of gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, career or class — no one should be made to feel uncomfortable while trying to find care for their pets. If you need a sitter or walker but have concerns about my rates as listed, please let me know and we can absolutely work something out.

Information Bri S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if there are any potential medical issues your pet has that could impact their walk with me as well as any history of behavioral problems with people or other animals when out in public. If Fido is an avid squirrel chaser or prefers people over other dogs, a heads up will help me plan our route and anticipate any challenges.

A typical day

One of the best parts of being a pet lover in Southeast Michigan is the access to plenty of beautiful outdoor spaces. I am also a big advocate for providing plenty of mental and physical enrichment with walks, toys, games and lots of play.

After more than ten months of applying for full-time work, I was finally hired for a remote marketing coordinator position — thank you to any pet parents who sent job leads or words of encouragement my way! I started Jan. 15 and won't have nearly as much availability for walks, drop-ins and sittings, but I'd love to still help out as much as my new schedule allows. I'm free after 5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and any time most weekends. I'm keep my calendar updated to reflect my weekend availability, but just send me a message if you're really in a pinch.
