Pet care experience
I've worked in veterinary medicine for eleven years, working in facilities ranging from county shelters and rescues, to ER/ICUs, to general practices, to specialty hospitals. Most notably, I spent several years working for the ASPCA's Field Investigations and Response Team, seizing and rehabilitating dogs used in fighting rings, as well as those rescued from hoarding, cruelty and neglect cases. I took my many years of experience and used it to create Central Ohio's Programs for Animal Welfare, a non-profit animal clinic and rescue, dedicated to serving our low-income families and rescue groups in Central Ohio. I have a strong background in animal behavior and enjoy working with our furry friends who experience profound fear, anxiety, and stress. My schedule is very flexible and can oftentimes be accommodating beyond what is posted in my calendar. Pets brought into my home are treated like my own. I have two small dogs of my own; Menzi and Tezi. Both are neutered males and up-to-date on vaccinations. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, and has lots of space for walks and exploration. Introductions are always slow, for everyone's safety. On day zero, your pet will meet the current residents through a barrier and will be integrated based on their comfort. Calming pheromone diffusers are used throughout the home to add an additional layer of comfort. Calming music is played quietly at night in communal areas or whenever pets are alone. Positive reinforcement is always used, so please let me know if your loved one has any allergies or intolerances! I make homemade pupsicles from peanut butter, bananas and yogurt, and regularly use stuffed/frozen kong toys for enrichment.
Reviews
Breona is an amazing caregiver! She sent photos and updates and made us feel very comfortable leaving Dollar with her while we went on vacation. We will be booking with her again. 100% recommend!!!
Breona took care of our dog like he was her own. He had never been boarded so we were nervous but she was very caring with him. I would definitely recommend Breona!
Breona took great care of our girls! One of our dogs has a lot of anxiety but she was very comfortable at Breona's. Both girls came home happy and healthy and enjoyed their week away!
Breona did a great job! Her communication updates and previous experience really made me feel comfortable. Highly recommend her for any dog sitting services!
