I’ve been around animals all my life. When I was born, my mother already had three large dogs, Misty, Anabel, and Natasha. Since two of those dogs came with “special instructions” due to previous abuse and resulting aggressive behaviors, I learned very early on how to be respectful around animals, and read their body language. Since then, we have had multiple cats, and currently, we have a little lemon called Nigel. He’s a sweet, cuddly cat that thinks he’s part dog, part cat, part human, and who gets sick when he gets stressed. He also had recurring urinary obstructions, so I’m quite good in telling the signs if an animal is feeling unwell, and I know how to handle emergencies. I’m very outgoing and active, and get along great with humans as well as with pets. I enjoy taking dogs for long walks and play with them. Unfortunately, at the place where we live, we are not allowed to have dogs, so I figured that dog sitting and walking will be a great way for me to get time with other dogs. Of course, I also love cats. I have done pet sitting for several of our friends, and have experience watching older pets who needed medication, so I know how to give dogs their medications, whether it is with food, or separately hidden in a treat. I have also helped my neighbor with her rabbits when she is out of town. I’m very flexible at the moment, and I’m available for overnight stays as well as for drop-ins and dog walking. I know that every pet has a different personality, and every pet has different needs. Please let me know what your and your pets specific needs are, and I will do my best to address them. If your dog is old, I will be very gentle, and take them for shorter and slow walks. If they are young and energetic, I can take them on long and fast walks (I’m quite a fast walker). Also, a list with your pet’s routine will be helpful for me to make sure they get the best consistent care possible.
