I happy-cry when I see a chihuahua.

Pet care experience

Before I jump into a little about myself, I wanted to talk about petsitting really quick. I am a huge advocate for sitting pets in their own homes rather than taking them to a boarding or daycare facility. This is not to say that those facilities are bad, but they just don't work for every pet. There are SO many benefits to having a professional sitter care for your pet in your own home, such as: Individualized, one-on-one care. Typically, a lot of animals attend daycare/boarding at the same time. For timid or fearful pets, this is extremely stressful. The staff also try their best to pay attention to each animal, but sometimes that just isn't possible. With a sitter, your pet will get around the clock attention, care, exercise, and yes, snuggles, in the comfort of their own home. It can't get much better than that! So think about it. If you're still on the fence about trying out petsitting in your home, I'd be more than happy to address any questions or concerns. ---------- Welcome to my profile! My name is Bree, and I've been an animal lover since the day I could crawl (seriously, check out those baby pics of me with a frog!). I'm the type of gal who will be driving down the road and spot a stray cat or dog/turtle/baby bird in the street and will immediately pull over so that I can help it in some way. Helping animals has always been this innate passion of mine, something that was weaved into my DNA and ultimately grew as I discovered I could make a difference. My first job out of high school was actually at a vet hospital, where I assisted with surgeries and nursed sick animals back to health. I’ve also been volunteering at a local animal rescue for 3 years now. We've taken trips down south where I've seen cats and dogs in deplorable health dumped at the shelter by their owners. When I say "I've seen it all," I mean it: the good, bad, stinky, gross, rewarding, and absolutely heartbreaking. My first dog, Chica, was a chihuahua mix who we sadly lost at 19 years old a few years back. I grew up with that dog, so that was probably one of the toughest moments of my life. Soon after we lost Chica, I adopted a chiweenie named Sadie to help the healing process. And a year or so after that, I adopted my cat, Margot. And then a few years after that...I adopted my second dog, Winnie, a blue heeler mix. Recently, I added two guinea pigs to the mix. My one bedroom condo is oozing estrogen and is a bit of a zoo. But that’s just the way I like it. I sincerely promise that your fur baby will be in honest, caring, and capable hands with me. I treat every animal the way I treat my own animals- cuddles, playtime, fresh food and water, walks, potty breaks, administering medication, etc. Whatever they need, I will provide.

Bree did a fantastic job dropping in on my cat on late notice. I wasn’t able to meet her beforehand but she handled everything with no problem! I came home to a very happy cat and a clean space. Would definitely use her services again in the future :)

Bree was absolutely fantastic! She loves animals and made my husband and I feel that our fur baby was really taken care of! She was very communicative and took lots of pictures. Our cat loved her!

Bree was awesome! Took great care of our kitties. She also did small tasks for us, such as taking in mail and garbage cans, which was much appreciated. Highly recommend!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is always number one, so I request that you leave the name and phone number of your veterinarian just in case I need to take your pet in. Depending on the service you require, I also request detailed instructions (written/printed/emailed) for each of your pets, such as feeding measurements/routine, potty routine, any quirks your pet has or house rules, etc. I see so many animals that it's difficult to remember everyone's different care! So the "cheat sheet" really helps and is very appreciated!

Information Bree S. would like to know about your pet

The pet’s temperament and if there are any short-term/chronic health problems. Please provide me with detailed instructions about lifelong medications that I would be responsible to administer.

I have a pretty flexible schedule! Send me a message and I'm positive we can work something out. For overnight stays, I do have 5 of my own pets at home, so some flexibility with allowing me to go back and forth from your pet to mine would be very appreciated (by the end of the day, I always spend the night with your pet, at your request of course).
