I grew up on a farm of 16 horses, 2 cows, a donkey, 3 dogs (2 outside, 1 inside), 3 cats, countless chickens, and 2 inside birds. Every day while my parents were working, I was responsible for getting the animals fed. Thankfully I had two other siblings who could share the load. We divided and conquered in order to spend quality time as well as get animals brushed and fed and check for any issues such as cuts or scrapes, lack of eating, loose shoes (for the horses), or the most common pregnant mommies. We had two labs and a pitbull and then one of the labs had babies and we were responsible for helping watch over the mom as she delivered the babies and then make sure all of the babies were getting fed daily and had clean sheets. I have also boarded family members' pets (who were familiar with me) and pets of friends of the family (who were not familiar with me). I work well with animals and know how to handle animals who seem skittish or who seem to lack control. I've practically grown up with animals as if they were also people as there were so many animals around all the time.
