When I was a teenager, l had watched many of the neighbors’ dogs and cats. I would bring them for walks, feed them, and let them out of the house. I eventually got a job at a dog daycare/boarding facility when I was 19. I absolutely loved it. Besides the cleaning portion, hanging out and watching/caring for/ walking dogs was amazing. After that, I had worked at a veterinary clinic for 3 years. There I had taken care of mostly dogs and cats. I had learned a significant amount about the vet aspect of small animals and have a decent basic knowledge of veterinary needs, but an exceptional amount of knowledge of everyday needs of a dog.

I have two dogs and a cat that absolutely love him! My dogs are weimaraner’s so very high energy and usually only care about their owner but when they see Brandon they get almost as excited to see him as they do for me. If I’m gone most of the day he’s the first one I ask to stop by to let them out as I know it’s not just a quick visit but stays and plays with them for a while without me even asking. When I was out of town for a week he stopped by to check on my cat and ended up staying and playing with him for a while and sent lots of pictures and videos. I’m not one that feels comfortable asking people to take care of my dogs as I know they’re not the easiest with how energetic They get and their separation anxiety but never hesitate to ask him.

Though I do not currently have a dog, I had in the past always cared for my own dogs and those that are clients as if they were my own. I know that all dogs are different in personality and have different needs. Some dogs will need to be crated while others do not. Some dogs may be a little more energetic or even naughty when on a leash on a walk. I always be sure that the dog if as comfortable as can be and is in a good position to be and feel safe.

Availability
I have a fulltime job currently and work Monday through Thursday. I am usually home around 6pm those days. I have Friday-Sundays off. Many times after work, I like to either go to the pool or go for a walk that is about 2 miles. Having a dog on the walk makes it that much better.
