I have cared for all types of animals, especially cats and dogs during my most recent house sits. I’ve spent many years pet and house sitting regularly in the Santa Cruz, CA area, and also in my home state of Virginia. I worked as a vet tech assistant and kennel technician at a Rio Del Mar Pet Hospital in Aptos, CA for 2 years. I was a stable care taker, at Little Paddocks Farm in Yorktown, VA for 7 years. I helped train dogs and horses, we also had pigs and cats that I cared for. I recently had a long term housesit taking care of a 12 year old Pitbull. She has sensitive knees and arthritis so I made sure she received all her daily medications. I helped her in and out of the car and up any stairs. Another long term sit I do is for a shy longhaired cat with some anxiety, I keep him calm, comforted and brushed. I give him his meds in the morning, the litter box stays fresh and he’s a little spoiled with treats! I also sit regularly for a 4 year old Lab/Husky mix and his new sister a 10 month old pointer mix. They require lots of attention, walks and playtime. I helped with training for both dogs. I absolutely love plants too, so watering and maintenance is something I enjoy. I will happily take care of gardens and bird feeding as needed.
