Vet. Assistant/Kennel Assistant

Pet care experience

I have grown up caring for dogs and cats my whole life. My mother works as the veterinarian at a low cost spay/neuter clinic and while I am not studying exercise science at VCU, I have worked as a veterinary assistant since August of 2013. I am also an Eagle Scout, so you know that I am a helpful, hardworking, trustful person. In 2015 I adopted a female Doberman that was found on the side of the road and brought into my work as a living skeleton. She was nursed back to health and now she goes everywhere with me. She loves going to the river and the dog park. My immediate family collectively have a Pit Bull mix, German Shepard mix, Miniature Schnauzer mix, and a Goldendoodle, and I have spent time taking care of all of them at different points. The first three were all rescues that were adopted from my work. I also have a black cat that I rescued, and I have cared for cats for several years. There is nothing more important in this world than our pets and they all deserve to be treated with the utmost respect.

Bram did such a great job with RJ. He really went above and beyond to keep me updated of his walk. He is such a sweet young man with patience and motivation.

It was an absolute pleasure to have Bram drop in and take care of our giant dog and two cats. He was very flexible, even coming over at 9pm, and kept us informed with detailed descriptions and photos with each check-in. He was our first pet sitter through Rover and exceeded all of our expectations. We highly recommend him and will definitely be using him in the future!

Bram visited with my dog and I yesterday, and walked my dog today. He is polite, flexible and great with dogs. My dog is a bit skiddish and wary of new people. Upon meeting her, Bram approached her calmly and immediately put her at ease. I am sure he learned how to appropriately handle dogs from his work as a veterinary assistant. Bram also took my dog for a walk, threw the ball in the park and waited for her to got to the bathroom before bringing her home. Overall, I would highly recommend Bram and look forward to working with him moving forward.
