Akita breed is well known for its unique and dominant charater. Their attitude and demenaour couppled with natural ability and stubborness makes them a breed that requires firm but gentle hand. I have spent total of 18 years with 3 Akitas, learning and growing to fully and respnibily care and guide this breed. I feel many large and classified aggressive or dominant breed are misunderstood due to human misuse. These dogs, as all others, have needs and sometimes have a pent up energy or feel isolated. I find a purpose in my life and meaningful use of my time to enhance these dogs lives through walks or visits. I am extremely comfortable with such breeds and handling them inside or outside. Each dog is unique in its own way, and may require special or modified handling, and I recognize this fact as an important piece of the puzzle in caring properly for the dog.
