My wife and I will pair up to take care of your canine family member in our home, not a kennel. Dogs have been a part of our family for decades. We've had mostly mixed breeds from the SPCA, but recently had two pure bred labs, Rosie and Mia. I say Rosie, Mia, and her buddies (we usually care for our three kids dogs when they travel) weren't allowed on the furniture, but somehow they usually end up there with my wife and myself. I also say no dogs under one year old, but pups that are house broken and beyond the chewing stage are allowed. I am 15 minutes away from a large, dog friendly park, that until Rosie's and Mia's old age hindered their mobility, we'd go for hours long walk every Sunday morning, including a dip in the river weather permitting. Rosie and Mia are no longer with us, so besides the visits from family dogs, we have an empty house, at least until the Spring of 2019. We also have a large fenced, fertilizer free back yard.
