Your doggy's home away from home

Pet care experience

We are a home of two dogs, a Corgi and a Chihuahua, and two dads, a soon to be Social worker and a Special Ed Teacher. We love dogs and have always enjoyed having the opportunity to leave our babies in a home we trust. We hope to provide the same to you and your baby. While our time during the college school year is limited, once summer begins (and on other breaks), we hope to be able to provide our services regularly. We live in a spacious town home with a large cement patio. During the cool months our babies spend their days outside. In the summer, they stay inside the air conditioned home. Our Corgi is very laid back (but LOVES to chase dogs at the dog park). Our Chihuahua is a scaredy-cat but has come a long way since we rescued her in 2013. While neither of our girls is too playful with other dogs, both are peaceful daddy's girls.

Blake is a loving owner of two dogs. I have seen him care for his dogs as if they were his children. I am sure your pet would be in great hands if taken care by this person. His sense of responsibility and devotion to his pets makes him a reliable pet care individual.

Safety, trust & environment

About my yard Out backyard is really a large cement patio. It's about 20' x 24'. While there is no grass, there are dirt/rock beds where the dogs relieve themselves as needed. Generally, our girls are inside unless we're not home (and it's not too hot or cold).

Home

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Information Blake Y. would like to know about your pet

Our biggest concerns when hosting a dog are 1) how they interact with other dogs and 2) if they are house trained. Our girls are pretty mellow, never getting in the face of another dog or showing aggression; hostile dogs are not welcome. While we understand potty accidents, we want to make sure we're not getting more than we bargained for.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks When we're not taking the girls to the dog park, we walk around our development, which is grassy with sidewalks. The complex is also gated. We take the girls on 10-15 minute walks at least three times a day, if not four. For longer walks, we venture out into the neighborhood, never crossing any busy streets. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Depending on the potty training, a dog visiting us is welcome to sleep where our dogs do. Muffin generally chooses to sleep downstairs in her kennel or on the floor somewhere. Canela sleeps in our room. If we have bathroom accident concerns, we'll have a visiting dog sleep downstairs (the no carpet area). Time I'll spend with your dog When we are home (i.e. not at school or work) we spend most of the day with our dogs, so the same would be true for a guest. We try to make it to the dog park at least three times a week and spend as much time with our babies as we can.

Why I love dog sitting Both Clark and I grew up with dogs at home. I had a dog at home since the time I was three. Clark had dogs intermittently from the time he was a small child -- currently four at his parents' home. Muffin and Canela brought us full circle, as we both had lived several years without doggies in our lives. They are our pride and joy, our babies, our kids.
