Pet care experience
Hello, I have worked with dogs professionally for eight years. I got started working as a kennel tech for a vet clinic and then at a doggy daycare. The door opened for me to foster service dogs in training while in college and that led me to working for the same service dog organization as a obedience trainer. Since moving to the Ames area I am a full time self employed dog trainer. My work in dog training is my passion and teaching humans how to train their own dogs brings me joy.

My dogs are in the crate if I can’t supervise them. I monitor them when they are chewing on bones or playing with toys to ensure they don’t ingest anything harmful. I feed my dogs in their crate to prevent resource guarding of food and high value bones. The dogs I care for would not be unattended for more than 8hrs. Safety, exercise and attention are necessities for every dog.

I always do a meet and greet with the owners and the pet first before confirming the booking. This way the owner can provide me with details on how to care for their dog best and gives me a chance to meet the dog.
A typical day
I enjoy providing enrichment through food puzzles, training games, playing fetch with high energy dogs or going on a decompression walk to sniff. Some dogs may just prefer a friend to sit on the couch with them, I am good with that too!

In between training sessions with clients I am available 24/7 to take care of your pets needs! I am a self motivated person and wake up early every morning to get my dogs the exercise and care they need.
