Home full-time & 13+ acres to roam!

Pet care experience

My husband, daughter, and I have a 1-level home that sits on a 13+ acre property, with plenty of room to roam and explore, and tons of squirrels/rabbits/groundhogs to chase! We have a small area off the side of our house that is fenced-in (6ft privacy fence) for potty breaks and play time for smaller dogs. Other than that, your fur-baby will be kept on a leash when outside, unless you specify that they are able to play safely off-leash. I have converted my home office into a "dog's room" in our home with crates, beds, toys, feeding station, etc. where dogs are crated, should I need to leave home briefly. I am home full-time and have several years of experience in caring for animals, as well as experience with training and therapy work, and extensive experience with XL/Giant breeds! I have had dogs since I was born, and I have always had at least one as a pet and companion. I generally only keep one dog at a time (2, if they come from the same household) to ensure that I am able to care for them at as high a level as possible, and that they are given as much attention and affection as they would be given at home! I have a 7 yr old daughter (as well as her friends, who frequent our home) who also loves all animals, and loves to help me care for them, so any dogs we board will need to be very comfortable with the "happy chaos" that accompanies kiddos! We have an Irish Wolfhound named Finn, who currently weighs about 140lbs! He is still prone to that puppy-type excitement upon initially meeting new friends, which can intimidate other dogs at times - due to his size, so our home is best suited for highly-socialized dogs who are eager to make new friends of all sizes! He can be quite playful at times, so for safety reasons I generally only keep small dogs who are used to being around XL/giant breeds (he would never intentionally harm them, its just the issue of size difference). He is very spoiled, and I make it a point to care for any dog as well as I take care of him! If possible, I do prefer to have a "meet and greet" with you and your fur baby prior to dropping them off for boarding, to allow them to meet Finn and allow fur-parents to make sure that they and their fur babies will be comfortable in our home! We do foster dogs as well, so all animals we keep must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccines! Aside from that, we do have pet chickens. They have a coop and an enclosure in our front yard, but chicks have to be kept inside until old enough to go to the coop, so dogs with a high prey-drive will probably not be a good fit. I am very reachable via messaging on this site, call, or text, and I am happy to receive "check-in" phone calls! I will be sure to send photos and updates during your fur baby's stay! Please feel free to message me with any further questions! I can't wait to meet you and your pup!

Information Bethany P. would like to know about your pet

Flea, tick, and heart worm prevention all up to date? Vaccines up to date? Good with kids? Good with large dogs? Any specific dietary needs? Scheduled feedings or free-fed? Crate trained? Housebroken?

A typical day

There are multiple walking trails within a 5-10 minute car ride from my home, as well as plenty of opportunities for walks around our 13+ acre property. We have a fenced in area, and (per owner's request) room for off-leash play. Our dog has a perimeter fence (similar to an in-ground system) with an acre perimeter to roam free, and we are happy to allow other dogs to do so as well, with the owner's consent. There will always be a canine playmate in our home for your fur baby to play with, and I take them to as many dog-friendly places as possible.
